What's the deal with the * and +?

This story was started out by Lisa. Her writing runs up through Chapter 8. Katie's writings begin at Chapter 9. The * denote which chapters Lisa wrote and the + show which ones Katie wrote. Katie is writing the sequel currently (due to some eagerness on her behalf to get it put up and finished) which is called Am, Is, Are, Was, Were.
