Kegan sat down beside Zac. His hair was in his eyes. She brushed it away.

"Hey how you doing? I came to say goodbye. I'm sure your going to have fun when you leave. I'll miss you though."

"I'll miss our conversations. The way you make me laugh even when I feel bad. I'll miss everything about you. I know I'll see you again, but it might be a long time. Mom said we're going to move. She thinks it will be the best. She thinks it will keep my mind off you. I doubt it will work. I wish you would talk back instead of just sitting there. It would make me feel so much better."

"Zac. Kim told me to tell you how I feel before its too late. I'm actually taking advice for once."

   "Zac, I love you."

A tear slid down her face. She looked back at him. His hair had fallen into his eyes again. She didn't brush it back this time. It looked better that way.

"You always did say I was late for everything."

Mrs. Hanson walked in and stood beside Kegan. Her eyes were red with tears. The same as Kegan's.

Kegan turned and looked at her. She didn't even have to ask. She knew it was time. She reached out and took one of his hands. Mrs. Hanson took the other. Soon the rest of the family was there too. Isaac and Taylor were standing beside Kegan. Mr. and Mrs. Hanson were on the other side with the younger children.

The doctor pulled a plug from the wall. The heart monitor went one for a few seconds before going flat. The room feel into cries.

Kegan stood beside Zac's tombstone. His family had already left after the funeral. She read his tombstone.
