The Society was formed to preserve the written, photographic and oral history of the area covered by the old Evandale municipality.
We can search our records for information for those doing research into their family trees, or projects for study
A selection of early photographs and maps is on display at the Evandale Community Centre, on the corner of Barclay and High Streets, Evandale.
The Society has also established the Murray Memorial Room at the Centre. Harry Murray was born and raised in Evandale, and was the most highly decorated infantry soldier in the British Empire during World War 1.
Information, artefacts and a database relating to local servicemen are also on display .
There is also a display on John Batman, John Glover and the history of the convict-built water scheme, designed to carry water from Evandale to Launceston.
