Ricky Rudd was born on September 12,1956 and his hometown is Chesapeake, Va
He is married to Linda and they have one child; Landon Lee.
Rudd considers his biggest highlight as an owner to be his first win, in 1994 at New Hampshire. His top career moment as a driver was also a first, his first win in 1983 at Riverside driving for Richard Childress.
Ricky Rudd went winless in 1999, ending a string of 16 consecutive seasons with at least one trip to Victory Lane. However, he doesn't believe this is the beginning of the end, and neither does Robert Yates. Yates hired the Virginia native to drive his
No. 28 Texaco/Havoline Fords starting in the 2000 season.
For the last six seasons, Ricky was an owner/driver and one of the mosr successfull. He won six races and finished in the top-ten in points three times.
