Fracking Information Meeting

Wednesday March 6th, 7pm for 7.30pm

Wed. March 6th 2013, Peter Froggett Center, The Queens University of Belfast.

Refreshments will be served from 7pm with the discussion beginning at 7.30pm.

As Whitehead is in a exploratory licensed area this is an important talk for people in Whitehead please spread the word if you cannot attend personally. “Fracking Community: Actions and Omissions speak louder than words”

Jessica Ernst tells her story. Jessica is a Canadian scientist with 30 years oil and gas industry experience who is suing the Alberta government, the Alberta energy regulator, the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB), and Oil & Gas giant EnCana for negligence and unlawful activities related to unconventional gas extraction using hydraulic fracturing.

This is a rare opportunity to hear someone who has lived on both sides of this issue describing their experiences on the fracking frontline.  Jessica will discuss the impact of this industry upon her own community and what led her to the conclusion that Northern Ireland should never permit hydraulic fracturing. The Assembly has issued licenses and begun the development process for unconventional oil and gas exploitation across huge areas of the country.

Find out how and why we must protect our communities, our health and our environment from this imminent catastrophe.

We warmly invite you to come along and participate fully in this event.
