Quicktime Introduction to the Band

Quicktime "Wearin' 'Em Higher" - Live hula from the beach at Waikiki

We perform and research the original style of Hawaiian music which used Steel Guitar as its trademark

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND

"The renewed dignity with which Hawaiian culture, especially music and dance, is being considered is a gift all the people of the islands can treasure. But, as one wise man once said, 'nothing is really good and really strong until you can kid about it'.

The fact that we can enjoy jokes about our ethnic pecularities shows we are no longer embarrassed about them.

There's Andy Bumatai, there's Frank DeLima, and there is Wiki Waki Woo.

This musical group recreates....with humor and love....the Hawaii of the thirties and the forties, when it was every mainlander's dream to sail to Hawaii, sit under a palm tree in the perpetual moonlight, be serenaded by a handsome Hawaiian (with no questions about his real ethnic background) whild a lovely hula maiden admonished him to 'Keep your eyes on the hands.' She would of course, be wearing a grass or cellophane skirt, and nobody cared if her costume, or the dance, was authentic or not. It was romantic! It was fun! Corn? Of course. But authentic assence of an era corn." --Jean Holmes, Editor, the Garden Island Newspaper
