Darkwing Duck
Do you vaguely remember, when you were little, watching some duck dressed in purple, saying things you didn't really understand but was a darn good show? Yeah, me neither. I myself only remember seeing the credits, and one episode seems strangely familiar. However, we all remember (or will experience) re-discovering the mighty masked mallard himself and falling in love with his television show again.
To those of you who haven't experienced this wonderful show, it is called "Darkwing Duck." It's about a seemingly dorky single father who transforms into the decidedly suave Darkwing Duck at night. He spouts Shakespeare, knows Quack-Fu, and is a loving father all at the same time! What's not to like? Especially the villains. You will never run into such a wonderfully hilarious group of villains ever in your life! Several of them make you feel actually sorry for them, and you find yourself wishing Darkwing would let them alone. Your heart breaks when Darkwing and his adopted daughter, Gosalyn, have a fight; you're on the edge of the seat when it looks like Negaduck (Darkwing's evil double) has finally gotten the better of Darkwing; and you laugh until you cry when Darkwing has an identity crisis or is unsuccesful in his attempts to put Gosalyn to bed. Overall, this show is a must-see. You can go to your local video store or library to rent a tape, you can see it on Toon Disney, or if you're unfortunate like me and don't get that channel, you can mooch off one of your friends' tapes. Enjoy!
