I Looked Into The Stream , The Face I Saw Was Mine
The Reflection In The Water Being Especially Kind
Pretty Good Looking , Better Than Fair
Admiring My Red Lips And My Long Brown Hair
I thought I Looked So Good I Actually Stared
The Wind Blew The Ripples Grew , Leaving The Water Bare
Most Peoples Hearts Are Different from Their Faces
It Changes Tho , Un-Seen , With Different Folks and Places
If Our Face Showed Our Hearts , Wonder What We`d Really See ?
In All The Other Hearts And Them Unto
Thee
They Say our Eyes Are The Mirror Of Our Soul
If That`s True are Not I Really Don`t Know
I`ve Seen Some Faces With With Such Evil In Their Eye`s
You Could Tell Very well , The Devil Lived Inside
Cold , Dark And Empty , Nothing To Read Was There
Like A Blank Piece of Paper , Like stone They Cared
And I have Seen The Sweetest Eyes So Warm I felt The Heat
Touching Mine SO Tender , With Every Heart Beat
And I believe at Those Times Our Two Souls Did Meet
There`s A Living Chemistry , One Knows When It is Matched
Like Electricity Going Out , The Other Sends It Back
Eye`s May Be Closed , The Face You Love So Much
Both Of You tasting What Is In The Cup
So I Expect Our Hearts Show In What we say and Do
Like Do Unto Others as You`d Have Them Do To You
That Old Golden Rule Is A Nice Way To Start
Goodness You Show and Give From The Heart
Not The Face Or Eyes , For The Scared and The Blind
Would Never Get To show What They Had In Mind
They Surely Couldn`t See Or In Thought Check Us Out
To Even Have The Slightest of What Were About
So We Have These Eyes , This Face to Keep Rain Or Shine
People Look at Yours , They Look At Mine.
We All Must Sail Our Own Ship , Be it Calm Or Tossed About
But When We Reach The Port , The Shore , What`s " Inside Will Come Out "
Think About The Cargo You Must Un-load
Cause You Will Always Show Others
What Your Ship Holds
