UGF was founded in 1997 under the name UnderGround Family Entertainment by Nate "Smooth" Hudson. He started the label with the intent of making it easier for those artists/labels deserving of a deal to get their foot in the door without having to deal with the "suit and ties" that may overlook their talent.
UGF Entertainment has deals with or has been in business with such companies as Raptor Entertainment Group/Cobra Records, Outlaw Records, Alliance Entertainment Corp., Bayside Entertainment, LGN/Select-O-Hits and RED/Sony BMG
In mid-2001, Mr. Hudson changed the name of the company to UGF Entertainment, Inc. to distance himself from his former image.
Going on to sign such acts as Christian Nelson, Platinum Status, Kwin MD, Kitana, SouthAve, SouthSide Deli and Royal Family and releasing music from National Recording Artists Nizzy (C1 Entertainment), Big Perm (Aphilliates Music Group), DJ WHO and others, UGF Entertainment has solidified itself as an indpendent powerhouse in the Mid-West.
