Ja Rule

Rule 3:36

Ja rule comes back strong with this album that is guaranteed to be a multi platinum smash. His first album vetti vetti veci came out almost two years ago and it was time for a sophomore project. With a bald head and a raspy voice he was once thought of by some as a poor man's DMX. His first album proved that his style is different from X's and this album as well as a change in his physical appearance (Braids instead of bald) are showing that he is his own man. Not a DMX Rip off.

There are 12 tracks on the album. Of those about six are really worth a second listen. They are Between me an You, Put it on me, Extasy, I cry, The rule won't die. Those first three are the songs that by now I am sure you have heard a million times on the radio. They are a little softer than I would have liked but I don't fault him for making them. If you want to go platinum then you have to appeal to wide audience and the only way to do this is to make tracks like "Between me an You", "Put it on me" and "I cry". The only track on his last album that was a real club banger was "HOLLA". This time he has three so that will definitely help his record sales.

In terms of guest appearance this album has no already established stars. However, the tracks of Put It on me (the remix) and I cry will surely make a star out of  Lil' Mo.

However, this album does have one flaw. If you haven't heard me say it before you are going to hear it now. I HATE SKITS!!!!. This album has three of the stupidest skits I have ever heard in my life. I can not stress how much better this album would be without them.

Overall, you can pick up this album or leave it alone. Either way you are going to hearing to singles everyday for a solid year. Whether it is on the radio, TV, or in your tape deck is the only decision that is up to you.
