Redman Doc's Da Name 2000

Funk Doctor Spot came onto the scene in the early 90's. In that time he has established himself has one of the greatest MC's to ever pick up a microphone. While he was a god on the underground it was not until this album that he finally received the mainstream recognition that he deserved.

The album contains 17 tracks. Of those about 12 are really above average. They are "Let Da Monkey Out", "I'll bee Dat", "Get it Live", "I don't Kare", "Well all Rite Cha", "Da Goodness", "Da Da DaHHH", Down South Funk", "Brick City Mashin'!", and "I got a secret". Of These Da Da Dahhh is the best. As silly as the name sounds, the beat, theme and lyrics in the song are above anything you will hear by anybody else. It is easily one of my three favorite songs of all time.

In terms of guest appearances this album has it fair share. The VIP list includes: Busta Rymes, Biz Markie, Erick Sermon, Keith Murray, Dave Hollister, and of course Red's partner  Method Man.

Overall, if you haven't got this album then go get it now. It may be old in the sense that it debuted in the late 90's, but it is a classic that is timeless. Also, with Reds new album being continually pushed back who knows when's the next time you will be able to hear a Redman album
