“Everyone trips out when they find that out, but yea I am white. When I first got in the rap game 16 years there were no other white rappers I was the only one so that kinda held me back cuz people wernt ready to have a white rapper in the industry yet. Now there's alot of white rappers comin out so thats gonna help folks like myself, DJ Trick and OZ.”
Introduce yourself and tell everyone where you from!
My name is King JC Im originally from Albuquerque, NM Ive gone back in forth from New Mexico to Memphis alot in the past 5 or 6 years. Im now currently livin in Memphis, TN

How long have you been in the rap game and exactly how many albums do you have out? I heard you have alot.
I been rappin since 1985, I recorded my first song in 4th grade. I have 16 solo albums recorded but all together Ive dropped over 30

What is next up for you and your click? Exactly who is your click?

The next project I plan to drop is my #16 album called "Ana off my Chest" it's the tightest album I've done yet, all my underground rap fans are gonna luv it. Then I plan to drop Misfit's sophmore album alot of people been waitin on it. Misfit is a female rapper with our label she's also in my group Everlastin Drama. My Albuquerque clique consists of a squad of soljuhs called The Playalistic Posse, it would take me all night to name everyone but here are the headliners. Everlastin Drama is: me, Misfit, Mon$ter, Youngsta and D Dog. Young Ruthless Thugs are: Mista Savage, DVS and Shorty Shotgun. We got Nay Nay another female, Casual One, Money, J Thugg and Jerone Aikins. My Memphis clique is DJ Trick, Carlyboo, C.A.S.T.R.O., OZ, The 2nd Family and the infamous Lil J. We just recently dropped a video entitled Underground Hustlaz. Most of deez folks are on the video.
Some people might not know this but you are white arent you?
Everyone trips out when they find that out, but yea I am white. When I first got in the rap game 16 years there were no other white rappers I was the only one so that kinda held me back cuz people wernt ready to have a white rapper in the industry yet. Now there's alot of white rappers comin out so thats gonna help folks like myself, DJ Trick and OZ.

Who has influenced your style and has had the biggest impact on your rap style?
I know alot of my fans are gonna trip out on this but just remember Im from the old school. I use ta really dig Ice-T back in the day he was one of the only rappers rappin on a wicked level and thats the level I wanted to head. Back then we didnt have no 3-6, Esham or Brotha Lynch. Ice-T was the original gangst/villian rapper. DJ Spanish Fly influenced my rappin alot. Im Albuquerque I was the first rapper to ever drop and I was also the first to start releasing volumes of underground tapes. when I moved to Memphis I started workin with a cat named DJ Spanish Fly who alot of people might now know but he started the whole underground tape game in Memphis. He was doin out here what I was doin in New Mexico, so we cliqued up. Then other rappers started copying his style. 3-6 and DJ Squeeky started droppin Volumes just like Spanish Fly. Everythang the public knows about rappers isnt always the truth. I think there are some rappers in Memphis gettin credit they dont deserve, but for the record the founding fathers of this Memphis rap thang are: Gangsta Pat, Ska Face Al, SMK, Skinny Pimp and DJ Spanish Fly. everythang else is just a xerox copy of what they started.

Who do you listen to right now in the rap game and what is your take on the direction rap is heading?
Right now I got the new Shoestring cd in my deck, Im also still bumpin that Natas, www.com. My favorite group is The Dayton Family. I also bump all that underground music from Memphis 1994-1997 only. All the new music droppin out of Memphis and the south I cant get into it. Everyones rappin about Bouncin and gettin crunk which was straight at first but now its kinda played out. The industy is headin in a bad direction cuz of this. I would luv to see rappers go back to them mystic stylez.

Are you still down with the 2nd Family?
We broke up in 97 cuz of a guy named Little Rock. I recorded him a whole solo album and he used it as a demo to get with Gangsta Pat. Pat picked him up and dropped a cd called Die Hard Orginization. He redid all the songs I did for Rock but he changed the tracks up alittle. The group got pissed off and everyone started trippen. Back then I didnt have contracts on anyone because we was just doin underground tapes, but it started a big conflict so me and Lil J started doin our own thang. In 98 I went out west to work with Everlastin Drama, I had a good 2 years to clear my head. When I moved back last September I talked with Pistol Grip and Killa Krome, everythang was straight, we might even get back together in the future.

If you gotta pick one album for a person that has never heard you to listen to, what would that be?
Thats the hardest question you could of asked me cuz all my albums are so unique in style. The outcome of a cd depends on what Im goin through in my life when Im recordin that paticular album. For the underground wicked rap fans I would tell em to check out that "#12 Fall Mix" or "#15 Underground Terror", Fo all the crunk rap fans I would recomend "#8 Kingzday", "The Playalistic Compilation" or "Everlastin Drama's Timez up." But my personal favorite has always been "#7 The Next Episode." I had alot of ana on that Cd cuz I just had been released from my bogus contract wit OB Records and I was starting my independent venture. Everythang I say on that record was true and from the heart and I had alot to say cuz I was goin through alot at the time.

When are we gonna hear King JC nationwide? Have you had offers from labels?

I've had some good offers, I was talkin with Alan Grunblatt who was the GM of Relativity at the time now he's with KOCH records. He offered me a $25,000 advance to sign as an artist. but at the time I was lookin fo a P&D Deal for my label Playalistic Entertainment. Im now talkin with Jeff and Jonny Phillips over at Select-O-Hits and it looks like they really wanna do somthin so I'll be droppin Ana off My Chest nationwide late this summer

How do you feel about all this dissing that is going on in Memphis even though its been going on forever?
I really dont pay it no attention. Ive been known to diss rappers on tapes, but what I was doin was reporting the truth, I think it rediculous when a rapper disses another rapper just to get his name out there.

What albums have you guest appeared on? What albums will you be appearing on in the future? I appeared on all kinds of underground tapes in the south and out west but I aint appeared on to many nationwide cd's. I was on Lady J's 2Hott 2 Handle which was nationwide, I also had a solo song on Indo G's Down South Ballin' 2 compilation. In the future you gonna see me on Tommy Wright III's music, we been talkin alot lately and he really wanna do some thangs wit me. I been talkin with Al Kapone and Skinny Pimp alot too. Me and DJ Trick are gonna be doin some production on Skinny's next album if the $$$ is right. We're talkin about that right now.

Are there any certain artists that you want to work with?
I would like to do somthin with Esham or the Daytom Family, Im pretty much down to do a feature with anyone if they comin tight and if the tracks are right, but I mainly just stick wit my own folks.

Where have you been lately? Alot of people say you have been moving from place to place.
Alot of people think if you rap you aint got no problems, but that just aint true. Ive had alot of drama goin on in my life the past few years and it kinda has messed with my music career. When I was in Albuquerque we had a building with an office and a studio, my # stayed the same for almost 2 years and good thangs were happening, Magazine's and Major labels were hitten me up all the time. But when I moved know one knew where I was. Now Im settled here in Memphis I bought a new house with a huge bonus room on the side where we got the studio and office. Alot of people are startin to hit me up again so we gone be aight.

Any last words and comments for your fans?
