Read below




Downloading your Megahead

The following applies to ALL of the Megaheads on this page :). These programs were designed for Win95 (works for 98 too)... so if you use 3.1 or a Mac Dont bother...

Second - you DON'T have to exit VP to DOWNLOAD ANY of the megahead programs. Third ... dont worry where you download the program... put it anywhere you want ... but at least remember where you put it... You will have to find it to unzip it and install it...

The program has to be INSTALLED in the games folder ... but theres a big difference between DOWNLOADING and INSTALLING. So download it where your little heart desires!! My example will be for downloading it to your desktop.

Unzipping the file

Now that you have it downloaded... The next step is to UNZIP the file... Nearly all the programs on this page are "zipped" with Winzip (a utility that compresses and de-compresses files). Now you have to unzip the file before you install it. If you try to open it before unzipping it ... it WILL NOT work....

Go to where you downloaded it and you should see the little zipped icon. Right click on it and a box will open up. Look for the following: Top line ".. Extract to .." next line ... ".. Extract to C:/Windows/Desktop/..."

Now if you see that - then you have Winzip installed correctly on your puter. If you dont see that ... then go get "Winzip", and come back here after you've installed it on your computer :)

OK .. back to unzipping. You've right clicked the icon for the zipped program. Now choose that second choice ... ".. Extract to C:/Windows/Desktop/..." (click it!). This will unzip the zipped Megahead program to a new folder on your desktop. That new folder will be named the same as the file which you are unzipping. For those who didnt follow the above instructions, and dont remember where they downloaded it, and now cant find it ... then do a "find" for the zipped file with Windows "find" ... when you find it ... you can unzip it right from the "find" box ... just right click it and proceed as above ... unzip it to the Desktop....

Now open up that folder on your desktop and you will see the icon for the program set-up - now youre ready to INSTALL !!!

Installing the Megahead

Now, technically speaking, you DON'T have to exit VP to install this program ... it's NOT a "patch". So ... go find the installation icon dubble click on it ... and the installation will begin.

Now this process should proceed smoothly ... the installation will ask you where you want to have the program installed ... and will give you a default path ...

c:\program files\vplaces\games


Now ... c:\program files\vplaces will work for you 9 times out of 10 ... so choose that, if thats the place that you originally installed the vplaces software. If that isnt where you have your vplaces software installed ... then you have to change the folder in which to install your Megahead program to THAT folder ... You have to make sure the "path" is correct to the "games" folder ... or it wont work ....

If ... after you start the installation process ... you get prompted to "create" a new folder ... or to overwrite existing files ... choose ok ... a new folder will be created ... and/or ... those files will then be updated ... if you don't already have any VP games on your computer ... then .. of course ... you will be prompted to "create" the games folder ...

Youll know that the program has been successfully installed when you get a box popping up which says:

DllRegisterServer in Meg.ocx succeeded
If you dont see that ... then read the above again .. and try again ....

Running your Megahead Program

OK .. you're back in VP ... after installation ... and you want to "get big" ... well ... there's a few ways of doing it ... here's one ...

On the tool bar ... that thing at the top of the screen there ... click on "Games" ... then ... "Start a Game" ... a box will pop up ... in that box ... may be a variety of items to choose from ... depending on what games or other programs you have installed in your "games" folder. To run the Megahead program ... click on "MegaHead" ... then click "OK" ... Another box will pop up ... if you want to change the name of your Megahead ... this is the time to do it ... just enter it into the top part of that dialogue box ... if not ... fine ... in any case ... just click "OK" ... and the "Game/Megahead" screen will pop up ... and start doing a lot of flashing ... and playing noise ... to turn off the sound and the talking ... read the section below entitled....

Now the last thing you have to do ... is to left click on the "chat room" tab at the bottom of the screen ... and you will see the chat room again ...

NOTE: your av may be blurry - this is normal ... want to clear it up? You will have to click on my Patches link and there's a HELP page there too :)

Turning Off Sound and Screen Effects

Very simple ... when the mega screen opens ... . it looks like the "game" has started .. simply click once on the wording in the bottom right corner of the "game" .... the microphone ... the drum ... etc.. mmm .. click on them all if you want ... this should give you a little peace ..
or ... right click anywhere in the "grey" part of the screen - choose "otions" and click "off" whatever you want to there.

Moving Your Megahead

Follow these simple steps:

a) Open your Megahead ... and follow along with me ..

b) Put your cursor on top of the megahead. It shows your nick in the yellow rectangle...

c) Now .. very slowly .. and very gently ... place your cursor on the extreme top edge of the megahead, while at the same time watching the yellow rectangle. Now ... if you slowwwwwwwlllyy move the cursor off and on the edge of the megahead ... you should see a change in the "name" ... from your regular "name" ... to "regular names Megahead".. well .. you will ... just keep trying . .as above ...

d) Now .. when you see the above-mentioned change in the "name" .. you guessed it ... left click RIGHT THERE ... and drag your av whereever you would like it..

e) This process also works on the left side of the Megahead :)
