          ~ May all who enter here find the peace and comfort that only Jesus Christ can give. ~

          "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone."
          Psalm chapter 91, verses 11 & 12.

          Mid all the traffic of the way,
          Turmoil without, within;
          Make of my heart a quiet place,
          And come and dwell therein.

          Joy is not the absence of troubles in our life, but the presence of Jesus. He has never promised a life free from storms, but he has promised to be with us in the midst of them and to bring us safely to the other side if we believe in him and rely on him.
          I could never have made it this far in my life without the presence of Jesus. I am thankful that God gave me parents who taught me about the love of Jesus from "Day One". Jesus is my salvation and some day I will join him and my loved ones who have gone before me in heaven. You don't have to be overcome by the troubles in your life. "But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15
          A woman, head bowed, eyes closed, open Bible sitting in her lap. When I think of my mother, this is often the first image that comes to mind. It is her habit to sit in her "devotional" chair every day to study her Bible and pray. She follows the example of our Lord Jesus: "Very early in the morning...Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." Mark 1:35

          Christians ought to find a special time and place to be alone with God every day to pray and read His Word. We claim to want to hear God's voice, but if we do not read the Bible, we neglect the primary channel through which it comes. In emergencies, prayer comes easily: "Lord, help me!" During our quiet time, however, it is a good thing to remember that we are here not to pester God but to adore him.

          God is looking for worshipers. Will He always have to go to a church to find them, or might there be one here and there in an ordinary house, kneeling alone by a chair?

          Graphic by Jeff JyAps@aol.com "Hi, Ichus (transliteration) is 'fish' in Greek. So the acronym of fish is used as a Christian symbol, a sign for Christianity. The Greek around the image means 'Jesus, Christ, God, Son, Savior'." Jeff

          "The fish symbol was used by early Christians to easily identify each other. When encountering another traveler on the road or another citizen of the city, a Christian would begin "doodling" with his walking stick in the sand. Eventually, he would draw the first half of the fish... If the other traveler saw this and used his stick to complete the fish, the two would know that the other was Christian." Jeremy Derr
