12/04So, this is my page- not very interesting but give me credit I suck at computers and I did this back in high school for a project when web page making was somewhat new and oh so neat. I suck I know, but I keep this around for old times sake.
Anyways my page is about Patrick Roy my favorite athlete since like 1986, or anything/one else that seems cool to me.
Patrick re-signed with the Avs earlier last year, for 2 years and 15 million. The first year has a no- trade clause. Patrick needs only a handfull of wins to pass Terry Sawchuck's record of most regular season games won.
Ray Borque signed a 1 year extension with the Avalanche.
Due to the expansion draft, the Avalanche have lost their back up goaltender (and said to be the goalie of the future) Marc Denis, and toughman/heavyweight Jeff Odgers.
Christian Matte, Sami Helenius (Stars), Serge Aubin (Bluejackets), and Dave Andrechuck (Sabres) are among those who have signed elsewhere.
Eric Messier and Stephane Yelle have singed new contracts with the Avalanche.
Sandis Ozolinsh was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in June.
Joe Sakic might be in danger of leaving the Avalanche via trade. So who would be the next captain? My personal vote is for Adam Foote if Joe should leave.
The NHL player's association is still debating if the pros should be allowed in the Olympics in 2002. I'd like to see them there myself, cause so many of them push that much harder when they're playing for their home teams.
Okay on to the 2000 playoffs!!! In the first round, the Avalanche beat the Phoenix Coyotes 4 games to 1.
In round 2 the Avalanche beat the Detroit Red Wings 4 games to 2.
In round 3 the Avalanche fell to the Dallas Stars in game 7. (Sound familiar?) But Forsberg is okay!!! No surgeries that will knock him out for the beginning of the year!!!
So the stars went on to face the New Jersey Devils in the finals and the Devils won it all. Scott Stevens was named MVP of the playoffs.
Colorado will host the 2001 All Star Game and Super Skills Competition!!
