A Little About CJ
We are the Colliers, Jim, Mary and Christopher (CJ). We live in Iowa. Christopher is 3 years old. He was diagoised as having down's syndrome. Cj was born with 4 holes in his heart and at the age of 3 months he had open heart surgery.  Surgery took place at Childrens Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. We think that the Childrens Hospital were the best. They worked fast and were one step ahead of anything that could happen. They stayed on top of the whole situation.
Down's children have lots of ear infections and upper respiratory infections. In Jan. the ENT, ear, nose and throat, specialist put tubes in CJs ears. They sure have helped. I only wished they would have done the tubes sooner.
CJ wears glasses. He has for about a year. He has a stigmatism in both eyes and is now near and far sighted. The doctors are hoping that the glasses will help with time.
We go regularly to the specialist dental clinic. CJ was very slow at getting his teeth, he got his double teeth first, k-9s were the last teeth to come in.  But they are all in now! One of his favorite foods to chomp down on is corn on the cob.
Cj gets speech, occupational, and physical therapy. He also started preschool this April in a special needs classroom. He loves to go to school. He also gets OT, PT, and Speech in his school.  Speech, is very slow for CJ. He is starting to talk some. It just takes time. But we realize that God has given us a very special angel to love, enjoy and encourage to do the very best he can.
