The Norwood Mound

This elliptical mound measuring 13.5’ high and 130’X100’ in basal diameters is located on a high hill above downtown Norwood. The mound has not been excavated, but its size, shape and upland location suggest that it is an Adena burial mound.

Directions: Follow Montgomery Rd. (combined U.S. route 22 and Ohio route 3) N from downtown Norwood .5 miles, then SE on Indian Mound Ave .25 miles to Norwood Mound. The mound is reached by a lane that leads S several yards from Indian Mound Ave.
