Lavender-Almond Soap

When mixing ingredients together make
sure that the temperature of both lye and water
and other oils etc. are the same temperature.
Always mix just lye and water together
and mix only other ingredients together.
Oils, etc. have to be cooked on stove to heat
and melt down. Otherwise soap will not turn out.

After 24 hours the soap may be removed from
its’ mold. Soap is easiest cut by wire
or knife or serrated utensil.
After soap is hardened wrap in plastic wrap
for storage..

Never use aluminum, cast iron, or tin.
Use Enamel or Stainless Steel Pots when making soap.
Along with safety glasses, apron, rubber gloves,
wooden spoons, newspaper, blanket or heavy towel,
need 2 thermometers (80-140 degrees)

You can also add some herbs
you have around the house.
Some herbs make beautiful soap.


Lavender-Almond Soap

24 oz. Olive oil
24 oz. Coconut oil
38 oz. Vegetable shortening
12 oz. Lye
32 oz. Water

FRAGANCE:

2 oz. Lavender essential oil
1 teaspoon bitter almond essential oil
¼ cup melted cocoa butter
