The hardest thing to say
I find now these words are hard to say,
Though I know in my heart these words are true.
You so long ago stole my heart away,
In the moment you first said "I love you."
I never have said how it hurt inside,
How it hurt when I didn't have you near.
You had never known just how I have cried,
Or even how much I needed you here.
They all just assumed it a simple crush,
But I'd tell you, now to my dying day,
I just want you here to hold and to hush.
Because I love you now, in every way,
And I want to be with you every day.
All these were the words I just couldn't say.
