In 1976 or there abouts, I used to know the exact date, but the memory is not all that it once was, The Chicago Area MGA Club got its start. Al Sadur was our first President. "Spokes", the club newsletter, had its first issue hit the mail in February, 1980. George and Jan Roy were the first Editors. At that time, the Club would meet once a month at the Atlantic Restaurant & Pub in Chicago. It membership proudly boasted 2 ‘47 TCs, 2 ‘52 Tds, 1 ‘54 TF, 1 ‘58 ZA, 1 YT, 1 ‘34 PA, 1 ‘59 Twin Cam, 3 MGA Coupes, 24 MGA Roadsters.

Then and now our aim has remained the same, the enjoyment of the products of Abingdon and socializing with others who suffer from the same problem. Ownership has never been a requirement for membership. Our club goals remain driving the cars and enjoying the companionship of the people who love these little cars.
