Roadside Assistance Scene 55-60 Revised 2/20/00 55. Int. Adam's Apartment, Near 11 a.m He is close to his monitor, as the roar of a racing game sounds. The televsion is playing in the background, but he is not paying attention to it. After a few seconds there is a knock at the door. Adam looks up from his game, pausing it. He stands, and walks to the door, the camera following him to the door. Through the peep hole, iris shot, he sees the a man that is slightly familar to him. Officer 1 stands there. Officer 1 nears the door again to knock. Behind Adam off camera, The music comes on all of a sudden, playing the killer theme. Adam turns around, easing his way back into the apartment. Adam's Pov as he looks around. The music seems to be starting to get louder, and so does the knocking. Adam hurries over, and turns off the music. He opens the door to see Officer 1 there in the doorway, behind him stands The two men in blue. Officer 1 quickly forces his way into the room, pinning Adam against the wall. Officer 1 You are underarrest, you have the right to remain silent. You have... Officer 1 continues to read Adam the rights after he has him handcupped, and is walking him to the elevator. Close up of the Stereo. The Dark One is bending down and pressing play on the tape deck. The song starts to play. Then Dark One reaches for the volume, and turns it up loud. Then the Dark One stands and goes over to the balcony, and looks out. END OF SCENE 55 56. Ext. Outside Adam's Apartment, momemts later. Officer 1 is pulling Adam out the door, getting him to Officer 1's car quickly, and then nearly throwing him in the back. Adam at first hits his head, and nearly bounces out of the back. Officer 1 grabs him, and keeps him from going anywhere but the back seat, but he does it harshly. Officer 1 Fuckin' Bastard. He slams the door, and walks around to the drivers side. As he is about to get in, Officer 3 is nearing to climb in on the passenger side. Officer 1 stops gettin in and stands straight outside his drivers side door. Officer 1 What in the hell do you think you are doing? Officer 3 I don't think you should be alone with him. Officer 1 Don't worry, nothing is going to happen. Just get in your car, and follow me. Officer 3, closes the door, and starts to walk away. The camera stays on Officer 1 as he watches Officer 3 walk back to his own car. Officer 1 gets in. He looks to the back at his prisoner. Throug rearview mirror view of Adam. Adam looks small and weak. Completely defensless, and innocent. Officer 1 looking back into the rearview mirror. Officer 1 Why did you kill them. Adam Who? I haven't killed anyone. Officer 1 Your going to fry, and I. I will be the fucking one to pull the fucking switch. You hear me, you asshole! Officer 1 puts the car in gear, and punches the accelerator END OF SCENE 56 57. Int. Cameron's Kitchen, Midday Cameron is sitting at the table, his arms outstretched on the table, and his eyes red with crying all night. His head is constantly shifting from being fallen in between his arms, or raised in a slumped given in look. Annettes sister, Marie, is sitting next to him at the table. After a stetch of silence he speaks. Cameron I just wish I could do something. Hell, that psycho nearly killed me as well as taking away my wife. Just what the hell am I to do. How will I live. How will our children live. Marie Cameron. What do you want me to say? She was my sister. I grew up with her. I love her with all of my heart, and I was there when she gave birth to your children. I am a part of you and her. Cameron I know. Marie So I want you to do something for me, as well as her. I want you to kill this murdering son-of-a-bitch. Cameron pulls all the way back in his chair, taking in a deep breath. Marie You will won't you. Cameron I want to. Marie Then do it. Cameron I have to go down there and identify him and his truck. Marie They know it's the truck that killed her, but they don't know for sure it is him. Say it wasn't. Get him released. Then follow him, and kill him dead. Cameron gets out of the kitchen table chair. He walks to the kitchen window and looks outside. Their are clouds overheard, and the light that shines through the curtain are dark on his face. END OF SCENE 57 58. Ext. North Riverside Mall's Parking Garage, Nearing 3p.m. A woman who is wearing a food court uniform of some kind is hurrying in to the mall. As she is walking she passes the Dark One, and the camera only catches him from neck down. The camera starts to follow him as he walks to the car that she had just parked. The car should be something highly un noticable. A small car, basically almost an opposite to the truck in that it is small, and more so that it would not be recognized. Something in a reddish color. Food Court Woman I'm sorry, honey, but I have to close tonight. I'll be here until ten. .... I know, and I... She leaves out of ear shot. The Dark One is at her car, and pops the lock quickly, opening the door. He starts to get in. His face never seen. The car slowly pulls out of the parking garage. END OF SCENE 58 CUT TO: 59. INT. Police Station Interigation Room, Midday Officer 1 is looking at Adam who is sitting in the modest chair behind the modest table. There is a fire of hatred sparking the air between the two. Adam isn't even looking up at Officer 1. He is staring at his hands. Adam is lost as to why he is there. Adam Why am I here? I haven't done anything wrong. Officer 1 Why don't you just confess? Save us all the paperwork. Hell, I'll strap you in myself, and pull the fucking switch you GOD DAMN SON OF A BITCH! Officer 1 slams his hands down on the table. It nearly cracks under his wieght and power. Adam I havn't done anything. What is it that you think I have done? Officer 1 I am getting FUCKING TIRED of your games. Adam when is the public defender supposed to get here. Officer1 He's already here. We're making him weight, saying that you are in processing. And we will continue to make him weight until I get a fucking confession out of your ass! Even IF I have to beat it out of you. Adam You touch me, and I will sue. Officer 1 Not from prison you won't. Prisoners give up their rights. Adam You know it doesn't work that way, Asshole, so why don't you just get my fucking lawyer in here, so he can get me out of here. Because I haven't done SHIT! Officer 1 rushes out of the door, slamming it on his way out, shaking the whole room. Adam exhausted himself standing up to the officer, and seems to slump far into the chair and forward into his hands. Within a few seconds he starts to cry. END OF SCENE 59 60. Ext. Outside the Police Station, around 4 p.m. Cameron is getting out of his car, and walking into the police station. The camera pulls back to reveal the car the Dark One had stolen and the Dark Ones left arm in the shot. The car should be parked across the street from the police station, and The Dark One is standing on the curb. END OF SCENE 60 Scenes 61-70
