Roadside Assistance Scene 71-80 Revised 2/20/00 71. Ext. Outside Adam's Apartment Building, MInutes later Officer 3 pulls into the parking lot, and gets out of his car, turning it off. He walks inside to the front door, and unlocks the door. END OF SCENE 71 72. Int. Adam's and Officer 3's Apartment Bldg, continiuos He gets in the elevator, and punches a button. He gets to his floor, and goes to his apartment, opens the door, turns the light on, and places his keys on the desk. END OF SCENE 72 73. Ext. Outside of Officer 3's apartment, simultaneous The Dark One pulls into the parking lot, and gets out of the car. He starts to walk around to the front of the building. END OF SCENE 73 74. Int. Officer 3's Apartment, continious Officer 3 is standing in front of the mirror, washing his face with the water. Now no longer wearing his gun belt, but has on his uniform, the front of it is soaked in water. He grabs a towel, and wipes away the water from his face. He takes a long hard look at himself. Then he looks up to the ceiling. Officer 3 That psycho lived right above me. He shakes his head. There is a knock on the door behind him. He turns away from the mirror, tired. He goes to the door, and looks through the peep whole. Iris shot. No One is out there. Officer 3 unlocks the dead bolt, and opens the door for just a crack to look outside. The door bursts open in on the Officer 3, and he falls back to the floor. Officer 3 is slow to recover as The Dark One bends down, and his greasy hands enclose around the throat of Officer 3. The Dark Ones Knees fall down pinning both of Officer 3's arms. The door is bounced close behind The Dark One Extreme close up of Officer 3's eye. It is frantic at the recognization of the Dark One, and also with the feeling of the life that is being seeped out of him. Extreme close up of Officer 3's lips. A deep breath is released. His last breath. Close up of The Dark Ones hands as they release slowly from the throat. The Dark One closes the door behind him as he starts to walk away. END OF SCENE 74 75. Int. Cameron's Apartment-living, nearly six. Annette's sister comes into the room from the outside, and walks into the living room. A look of shock comes over her face. Full shot of Cameron standing in the center of the room. He is breathing heavily and it looks like he just stopped smashing up the room when he seen her come in. He has a metal bat in his hand. In a rage he turns He turns toward a small wooden coffee table and slams the bat down on it with all his might, smashing the table. Close up of the wooden table is it crumbles Full shot of Cameron as he drops the bat and turns to Annette's sister. Annette is scared and starts to back out of the room. She is beginning to wonder about his story of Annette being run over by someone. After all, here is Cameron on a rampage with a bat. Annette's Sister looks off to the side. Medium shot of two young children peeking out of a door, both look terrofied, and not wanting to turn their backs on their father in case he came after them, they could run before he got to them. Annette's Sister starts to back away, and starts to go to the door. With a very fast motion by Cameron, he is at the door, keeping her from opening it. Cameron I'm better, I just needed to work out some frustration. Annette's Sister is scared, but just seems to nod as she steps back away from him. Cameron The basterd not being released. They don't believe me saying that I couldn't see him in the dark and some shit like that. Annette's Sister O..Okay Cameron, just wait. They can't hold him past tomorrow, unless they've charged him. Cameron I know. He slams his fist into the door and walks away. Annette looks to the door seeing that now she can escape, but afraid of what he would do if he caught her. She looks back to Cameron who is now sitting on the couch. He is close to tears. Annette's Sister Cameron, do you want me to watch the kids for you while you go out. Cameron Go out? Annette's Sister Yeah, I think you need to get away for awhile get out the house. Cameron Yeah, I'd appreciate that. He slowly rises walks to the door, and grabs his coat. He walks out of the door. Annette's sister looks to the children. Annette's Sister It's okay. It's safe to come out. END OF SCENE 75 76. Int. Officer 1's House-Kitchen, Nearing 8p.m. Officer 1's wife as she is preparing dinner. She is chopping some onions, and crying, but it is not because of her onions that she is crying. She is crying out of killing Officer 2. It was all because of her, that he was there at the car wash. It was her who had turned him away, when he told his wife. She stops chopping momentarily to try and stop crying. END OF SCENE 76 77. Int. Officer 1's House-Living Room, simultaneous Officer 1 is sitting on the couch, with low lighting in the room. He has a picture of in his hand. Close up of the picture. In the picture is Officer 2 and Officer 1 together near a grill. They are both smiling, happy, and posing for the picture. Officer 1 sets the picture down onto a coffee table near the couch. On the coffee table is two cans of coke, a bottle of rum, and a glass. He grabs the glass and takes a drink. He sets the glass back down. The Power goes out Close up Officer 1's face in the dark blues. Medium shot of him as he stands and goes to a picture glass antique case. He opens up a drawer and inside of it is some candles. He puls one out and lights it. He reaches back in for a base. END OF SCENE 77 78. Int. Officer 1's House-Kitchen, simultaneous The wife is startled by when the lights go out, but she continues to act casual thinking it is apart of the Chicago blackouts. She goes over to the kitchen table, and lights one of the candles. She takes the candle back to where she was cutting. She grabs one of the pans and take both the candle and the pan over to the sink. She starts to wash it immediately. A shot through the kitchen window of her working on the pan. The Dark One, face hidden, comes up slowly behind her. Medium close up of her face as his shoulder is at her head level. His right hand comes around and cups her mouth. Profile shot as her pulls her back. His head is bent forward, down so that her head blocks his. Close up his left hand as it reaches for her knife. Close up of her eyes-at first shock, but then they dim as the life seeps out of her. END OF SCENE 78 79. Int. Officer 1's House-Living Room, simultaneous Officer 1 is sitting on the couch, layed back. He hears a thump coming from the kitchen. Officer 1 Honey? ...... You okay in there? He starts get up off the couch. END OF SCENE 79 80. Int. Officer 1's House-Kitchen, continious He enters the kitchen and sees her there on the floor. He becomes cop, instead of bathing in emotion. He reaches down to study the wound, grabbing her candle on his way down. He dips his hand in the wound. Close up Officer 1's face as he looks pained. Heavy mood music starts to play. Officer 1's head quickly whips around to look to the living room. He stands while also quickly making a reach for where he usually keeps his gun under his coat. There is no gun there, and he isn't wearing his coat. He looks down at his empty hand. He slowly starts to move to the living room. He is slow and cautious. END OF SCENE 80 Scene 81-THE END
