What We Are Up To

In this section, we are planning to add our Illinois Rainbow News Articles and copies of reports that are presented for various activities during our meetings. Give us some time to get this together and check back soon!

Stated Meeting, August 21,1998

Whew, Grand Assembly is over!! Congratulations to our newest member, Tracy Moore, who was initiated at Grand. We are glad to have you in our assembly! Things are getting back on track at Jewell! This last month has been crazy!

At Grand, Sister Leia Brewer was appointed the Grand Representative of New Hapmshire and Vermont for the 1998/1999 year. CONGRATULATIONS LEIA! Immediately following Grand, she tried to get as much information about her state's Grand Assemblies. She was unable to go to New Hampshire's Grand, but she went to Vermont's Grand. Suzanne Collins, PGrOO and Mrs. Brewer went to. They had a memorable time and talked about it for weeks afterwards!

The week after Grand, the Jewell Girls, their parents and ALL of the majorities served dinner to Chicago Lodge for their annual installation dinner. Congratulations to all their new officers!!! Mr. Collins (DAD) and Mr. Spector (other DAD), you guys (as always) did a great job with the food!! We never leave Chicago Lodge hungry.

Linnea and Loralei Kokesh went to Rainbow Camp in August. They had a blast! Quiet little Linnea hasn't stopped talking since. What did all you STA people do to her?

The day after Rainbow Camp, the Jewell girls split up. Most of the members went to Magic Waters water slide in Rockford for our Second Annual Maj. sponsored fun trip. Unfortunately, Mrs. Spector, Susan, Shelly, Leia Brewer (our WA and new Grandie), Mr. and Mrs. C., and Suzanne went to the Chicago Lodge Picnic to represent Jewell. It was hard having a fun trip without everyone there. Luckily though, we have another perspective member from the fun trip.

Right now, at our meetings, the girls are cracking down on ritual with the help of Ms. Davlantes and Ms. Koenig. Keep up the great work girls!

Stated Meeting, Work Party, July 3, 1998

Another work party is over! Whew, we are finaly ready for the WA/PWA luncheon at Grand. Tonight we worked on the centerpieces. We also balloted on a new petition. Our new member will be initiated at Grand. See Kim, we didn't let you down.

Leia, our WA went to KY's Grand Assembly with two of our majority members, Thanna DeLeon-Hoffman and Suzanne Collins. Thanna belonged to the new GWA's Assembly (Lorraine #6) while she attended school in KY and served as Gr. Rep to KY from IL. It sounds like they had loads of fun, except for the car trouble in Indiana. (Where are those masonic directories when you need them?)

Right now, everyone is getting hyped for Grand. Final car arrangements were made. Don't forget... EVERYONE will be meeting at the Spector's house on Thursday morning. DON'T FORGET YOUR DUES CARDS, LADIES!

Stated Meeting, Work Party, June 5, 1998

We had a work party tonight to create the favors for the WA/PWA luncheon at Grand Assembly in July. We have 168 done out of 200! GREAT JOB GIRLS!

We were lucky that everyone came. We think the secret was bringing a TV set so we could watch the Bulls playoff game against the Utah Jazz. Come on Chicago, Repeat the 3-peat! We ran out of materials just before the fourth quarter. (How's that for timing?)

The girls all have paint stains and glue-gun burns to show for their efforts. We also had to clean the paint off the tables afterwards.

Shelly told us her itinerarry for her upcoming thip to Israel for USY, and Loralei and Linnea decided that they will be going to Rainbow camp. (Us majority members are jealous, WE MISS THE FOOD!) We also finalized travel arrangemnts for Grand. Will Trish ever find the hotel (She's only been there 20 times.)? Stay tuned to find out.

At our next two meetings we will be finishing the favors and the centerpieces. We'll let you all know what happens.

Our Official Visit, March 15, 1998

WHEW!!! Our Official Visit is over. Thank you to everyone who came. Sorry about the yucky weather.

Arlington Heights, thanks for everything -- you guys are the best to work with! Friendship, thank you for helping us out. We are glad to be part of a district where everyone lends a helping hand.

Lastly, Congratulations are in order for several people. Tina and Leia, on your appointment as co-chairs for the WA/PWA Luncheon at Grand. We are so proud! Get ready to WORK, and remember, we are here to help. Linnea and Loralei, on being appointed to Grand Choir -- It will be so much fun and you will meet so many new people. Kim, our soon to be nationally famous GWA, congratulations on your appointment as Acting Supreme Faith at Supreme Assembly. We hope we can all be there to watch you make Illinois proud.

Stated Meeting, March 13, 1998

Tonight we balloted on a petition. YEAH!!! : ) We also practiced for our Official Visit on the 15th of the month. Lastly, after the meeting, we had a work party to prepare everything for the O.V.. We hope to see everyone there.
