Another of the good, old Christian mothers has heard the Saviour’s Call and journeyed to the land where there are no sorrows and pain.
About 4 o’clock Sunday morning, Mrs. Talitha Mills, wife of J. H. Mills, Sr., died at her home west of Clinton, aged 73 years, 1 month and 18 days. She had been sick ten days and her death was not unexpected.
Talitha Parker was born January 4, 1830 in Woodstock, Ohio, being a daughter of John and Ara Parker. When she was seven years old her mother died. Her father came to this country where he died a few years ago. She was maried to George B. Cushman of Clinton, in 1847, who died in 1851. One son, George F. Was born to them and lives in Clinton. February 23, 1854 she was married to John H. Mills, who survives her. She died the day before the forty-ninth anniversary of their marriage.
To them five children were born, tow of whom died in infancy. Those living are: B. C. Sprague of Clinton; Mrs. Howard McKinney, of Barnett township and Henry C. who has remained home.
She united with the old Union Church near Hallsville during the meeting held by Rev. Simpson Ely. When the old Union Church moved to Midland City, she transferred her membership to the Clinton church.
