People in good health can donate a unit of blood as often as
every eight weeks. Making an appointment first when you choose to
donate blood is a good idea and will help you save time in this
busy holiday period!
If you are based in the United States, you
can call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to find out where you can locate a
convenient location to go to give blood at an American Red Cross
facility, or you may also visit the Red Cross website at
http://www.redcross.org . You may also contact your local
community blood center or hospital blood bank. In fact there are
many places where donations can be made. Bloodmobiles travel to
high schools, colleges, churches and other community organizations.
Many people donate at blood drives at their workplace too.
