AZ Desert Rat

Welcome to my first attempt to show my 74 Thing that I have used for exploring the Arizona desert. I have now brought it back to Illinois to refurbish it as the engine is tired and needs to be revitalized. Body and interior will be next after the mechanics of the Thing are completed. This page is like the Thing as it too is under construction.

Out in the middle of nowhere I came across an old bug convertible. You can see it out in front of the Thing. What a shame. Someone in its past took the belly pan off and dropped the shell here. Oh what an Illinois boy would have given to cart home the shell before it was dumped here and used for target practice.

Left to the desert sun

Abandoned to the desert sun this old convertible is rust free and solid. Too bad that people unknown shot it up and beat it so badly that not even a knob on the dashboard was salvageable. I wonder how long this car has been sitting out here.
