Becky and Beth

"Beth its your turn, go ahead," Howie said.

" OK I rolled a ten. Oh yay I got boardwalk. Now I have boardwalk and park place. Wow I am beating you sooo bad," Beth laughed.

"Yes you are. I didn't know I could lose this bad," said Howie.

"Ha ha you landed on boardwalk you owe me $2,000,"Beth laughed.

"I'm gonna get you for that," Howie said. Howie reaches across the board, grabs her by the foot, and starts tickling her. She was laughing and she tried to get away by rolling around. It didn't help much and Howie pins her down and for a second they are quiet, staring at each other. There lips meet with fiery passion "Beth..." said a puzzled voice. Beth pushed Howie off of her, she looked up just in time to see Nick running from the doorway.

Meanwhile in Becky's room, "No, Kevin is my legal guardian and Brian is my brother. How many times do I have to tell you that?" Becky says laughing into the phone.

"O yeah," Lance says remembering.

"Yeah, they are a big pain in the butt sometimes," Becky says.

"When are you going to tell them we are going out?" Lance asks," It's been three months."

Suddenly Becky hears footsteps on the stairs and she whispers, "Lance gotta go, I love you, Goodbye."(knock, knock)"Come in," she says slamming the phone down.

Kevin sticks his head in the door and says, "Who are ya talking to? Its 10:00."

"No one, no one at all," she snapped quickly.

" O really," he says ," we'll just see about that."

"No, don't," she yelled grabbing his arm.

" Now I really need to know," he said dialing *69.

"Hello, "Lance asked.

"Hello, who is this? "Kevin asks.

"This is Lance Bass," he answered.

"OK well thank you," he said in an angry voice as he hung up the phone. "Why were you talking to that boy?"

"Well..." she said backing up onto the bed.

"Why were you talking to that boy?" he said getting agitated as he walked closer to her.

"I meant to tell you a while ago, we have been going out for 3 months," she answered.

"Three months!" he said lifting his arms in the air. "You could have just told me when you got married."

" I'm sorry!" she said beginning to cry. "Stop yelling at me!"

"Well I think I have the right to yell! You have been lying to me!" he said screaming louder.

"I didn't lie! I...I just didn't tell you!" she said crying harder. She couldn't understand why he was getting so angry!

"I can't talk to you right now!" he said shaking his head as he walked out of her room. "Just go to bed and we will finish this conversation tomorrow after school." With that he closed the door, leaving her to cry herself to sleep.

Meanwhile: Nick ran down the stairs, not wanting to think about what he just saw. He had to get out of here! He stormed out of the house, slamming the door. He jumped into his car and turned the ignition. The rain was pounding on the roof, in sheets, he could barely see. Tears were streaming down his face. He pulled out of the driveway and sped off into the night. All of the sudden a black truck came out of nowhere and struck him head on.

Beth ran downstairs after Nick. She opened the door hoping that she would catch him. She ran onto the lawn and searched for him, he wasn't there. She turned to her right, just in time to see Nick's car being hit by a black truck.

"NICK!" she screamed as loud as her voice would let her and ran to the crash. She leapt over car parts to reach Nick's door and attempted to open it. It was stuck!

"NICK!" she screamed again banging on the door. She looked into the window and saw him, he was bleeding from a gaping gash in his head and he wasn't moving. He was smashed in between the dashboard and his seat. She still couldn't open the door!

"Oh! NO!" she heard a voice scream from behind her. She turned to see AJ and Howie running from the house. AJ ran to where Beth was and pushed her out of the way.

"Come on Nick!" he screamed tugging at the door. "It won't open! Howie! Tell Kevin to call 911! We need an ambulance!" Howie ran to the house and yelled in, "WE NEED HELP! KEVIN CALL 911! THERE'S BEEN AN ACCIDENT! NICK IS STUCK IN THE CAR! WE CAN'T GET HIM OUT!" Howie ran back out into the rain and helped AJ getting the door open. By the time the ambulance arrived they had opened the door and were attempting to pull a piece out of the way.

Becky sat on her bed for a few minutes after Kevin left. She didn't know what his problem was! She wasn't going to just sit here and take this! She ran to the window and climbed down. She turned around to see if anyone had seen her and ran towards Lance's house. When she got there she rang the doorbell twice and waited for someone to come. She heard footsteps and hoped it was Lance. It was, "What are you doing here!" he whispered closing the door behind him.

"Kevin yelled at me and I had to see you!" she said grabbing him and hugging him tightly.

"Wait why did Kevin yell at you?" he asked pushing her away and looking into her eyes.

"Can we talk about it some where else?" she asked hoping that he would say yes.

"Oh, yeah! You are soaked! I'll get my car keys, wait here!" he said opening the door and running in.

"What about your parents?" she asked as he led her to his car.

"They're asleep." he said as he opened the door for her and went to his side.

He drove them to a park and they parked the car by a tree.

"Are you going to tell me what happened yet?" he asked turning to her.

"Well he found out that it was you on the phone and he freaked out! It's like he hates you or something! He was yelling and I didn't want to stay, so I came to your house." she said trying to hold back the tears.

He leaned over and hugged her. "Maybe he'll come around sometime." he said trying to comfort her.

"I hope so! I want him to meet you. And Brian would love you! I guess we just have to wait!" she said getting excited. They sat in the car and talked for what seemed to be hours, they didn't care, they were together.

They finally had gotten Nick out of the car with a lot of struggle. He looked pretty bad, the other driver had died on impact. Beth tried to get into the ambulance but they wouldn't let her, they needed all the space they could get. Beth ran to Howie's car and she, AJ and Howie jumped in, they drove after the ambulance at the highest speed they could reach. She ran into the hospital with AJ and Howie hot at her heels. She tried to get into the operating room but they wouldn't let her. They all sat down in the nearest waiting room, hoping and praying for Nick to live. Beth sat down and went into a state of shock, she had just realized what actually happened and it was too much for her to handle. She started to rock in her chair and no one was able to communicate with her. She was in her own world, Howie tried to snap her out of it, failing. He began to feel that all of this was his fault, he sat down next to Beth and cried.

Brian ran upstairs to get Becky from her room. He opened the door and she wasn't there.

"Becky?" he asked walking farther into her room. She wasn't there. Brain turned around and ran into the hall.

"Kevin! Becky isn't in her room!" Kevin ran upstairs and went into her room. He was right! She wasn't in her room, he had no clue where she could be. It was 11:30! Where could she be? She should be in bed. Kevin ran into the hallway and a thought came to him! He new where she was, she was with Lance!

"Brian, get the car!" he shouted as he ran into his room and got his jacket.

"What? Why? What are we doing? Do you know where she is?" he asked grabbing his keys and following Kevin outside.

"Yes, I know where she is. And who she is with!" he said snatching the keys from Brian's hands. "She is with Lance Bass." he said leaving Brian standing shocked in the rain.

"She....she's with Lance.. Lance Bass!" he said struggling to find himself. "Lance Bass! How does she know him?"

"She told me tonight that she has been going out with him for three months....I didn't want to tell you." he said driving the car towards a park. "I know how you feel about him." They continued driving slowly towards the park. Kevin pointed out a car. "That's got to be them!" he pulled the car over behind Lance's and they walked towards it quietly. Kevin opened the passenger side and pulled Becky out.

"What are you doing?" she turned to see Kevin. "What? Why are you here?" she turned to Brian who was staring into the car at Lance. "Brian? What is wrong?" she walked over to him and saw his fists, he was clenching them. "Brian?" she grabbed his arm, he shook it off. Lance got out of the car.

"What's going on?" before he could say anything else Brian threw his fist at Lance. He punched him so hard that he flew back a little.

"BRIAN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Becky screamed grabbing Brian by the arms. "STOP IT!" Brian turned to Becky and glared at her.

"You have no idea do you?" he asked.

"What are you talking about?" she asked looking at Lance who was getting up off of the ground.

"Brian don't!" Kevin said taking a step forward. "Don't tell her."

"Tell me what?" she asked looking worried. "What can't you tell me!" she turned to Brian and he looked like he was going to explode. "What is going on?"

"Do you really want to know?" he asked, she nodded her head. "Well....you're little boyfriend over here, well he was in the car that killed mom and dad!" he said turning to Lance who had his head down.

Becky shook her head, "NO! It's not true! Lance!" she screamed running to him. "Tell me it's not true! You weren't there! I know you weren't!"

Lance lifted his head and he had tears in his eyes, "Becky...I wanted to tell you. I..."

"YOU JERK! Why didn't you tell me! Why!" she turned and ran. Kevin tried to run after her but lost her.

Lance turned and got into his car. Brian glared at him until his car was out of sight.

The doctor walked into the waiting room and Howie and AJ stood up "The surgery went OK and now we are waiting to see what happens. He has a couple broken ribs and an extremely large laceration on his forehead. We managed to control the internal bleeding but......"

"But what, "Howie screamed.

"But he's in a coma. The longer he stays in a coma the lesser his chances are of recovering. As it is his chances are pretty slim," the doctor said.

"O man, "AJ muttered, "how are we gonna tell Beth. I don't think I could tell her that."

"Maybe we shouldn't tell her," Howie said," she is already in enough pain, I don't want to break the news to her yet. Plus there is a chance he can recover right?"

"Yes there is a small chance, and that small chance is enough I guess. Would you like to see him?" the doctor asked.

"Could we? "Howie asked.

"Sure follow me," the doctor said.

Howie and AJ came back to Beth who was still waiting in the chairs." The doctor just came and told us that Nick is out of surgery and that we can see him," AJ said.

Beth looked up at them. Her eyes were red and swollen and tears were streaming down her cheeks. "Is he, is he OK? she asked.

""Well," AJ explained," he has some broken ribs and some cuts and he is in a coma."

"He's in a coma," Beth said slowly as even more tears slid down her unusually pale cheeks," What have I done? she whispered.

"AJ, why don't you go ahead and we will be there in a minute," Howie said.

"All right," he said and he started down the hallway.

"Listen Beth," Howie said," none of this is your fault. I don't want you to even think that because it isn't OK. Now I know Nick loves you very much and I don't want you to back down on him. He needs you the most right now. OK."

"OK," Beth said giving Howie a big hug. He took her hand and they walked down the hall.

When they got in the room AJ was sitting in a chair next to Nick. Nick looked terrible. He had a huge white bandage on the right side of his forehead and he was hooked up to a ton of beeping machines. When Beth saw him she backed up against the wall and cried because she couldn't handle it.

"O man, Nick buddy ,this can't be happening, Howie said.

"He does look horrible doesn't he, "AJ said.

"Why don't we let Beth be alone with him for a minute," Howie whispers to AJ.

Howie and AJ leave and Beth is alone with Nick. Not knowing what to do she goes up to him and starts to cry even more, so much that the tears blur her vision. She takes his hand in hers and she notices how warm it is. "O Nick how can you be lying here like this. I can't stand it. Nick I love you soooooo much and I am really sorry about everything .Somehow I feel like this is all my fault. I would do anything just to hear your voice again. I love you. Please, Nick wake up. I need you. I couldn't stand to live without you here with me. I love you Nick I really, really love you. Please Nick Please." Beth said. The tears take over. She grips Nick's hand and pulls it to her cheek, she cries uncontrollably.

Becky had been running for a long time, she finally had decided to stop, and sat down on a park bench. "How could he do this to me!" she thought. "Why didn't he tell me?" Becky got up and started to walk towards her house, she could talk to Nick. He would know what to do, he always knew what to do. When she walked into the house she saw that it was dark, and quiet. She ran upstairs to Nick's room. No one was there! Where is everyone? She ran downstairs thinking it was a joke, no one was downstairs either. She ran to the answering machine, there was a message. She played the message: "Hey, Um, this is AJ, Um, Nick just got out of surgery. You guys should get down here. Um, come soon." Becky was so confused, "Why would Nick be in surgery?" It must be really serious if he was in surgery. She grabbed her coat and started for the hospital. When she got there she went to the information desk and asked for Nick Carter's room. When she got there she saw AJ and Howie standing outside, she ran to AJ.

"What's wrong with Nick?" she asked grabbing him by the shoulders. "What's wrong with him!" she screamed.

"Becky stop it!" he said shaking her. "He has been in an accident, he is in a coma!"

"What?" she asked confused, "When did this happen?"

"It happened around 10:00. He was in surgery for about an hour, he had internal bleeding but they stopped it. He is in there with Beth."

"Oh god! Beth! How is she?" she asked trying to look in the room through the glass window. "Is she OK?"

"She is taking it better than before." he said trying to smile. "She was in shock for a while."

"But how did it happen? It was 10:00 o'clock!" she asked turning to Howie, who looked away from her face. "Howie? What is it?"

"I...They had a fight." he said starting to cry. Becky went to him and hugged him. "I saw it, they had a fight." he repeated holding her close.

"It couldn't have been that bad, could it?" she asked still hugging him.

"You weren't there...Let's stop talking about it OK?" he said pushing Becky away.

"O...k?" she said turning to AJ, who just shrugged. The door opened and Becky saw Beth at the door, everyone turned to her.

"Beth!" Becky said walking to her friend with open arms. Becky hugged Beth and they cried. They walked into the room and Becky saw Nick on the bed. He was attached to a lot of machines, she started to cry again. He was such a good person, he didn't deserve this, not now, not ever. She walked closer to him and sat down on the floor. He had helped her so many times and the one time he needed her she couldn't help him.

"How is he?" Kevin asks as he walks into Nick's room with Brian behind him. Brian was staring at Becky, not knowing what to say.

"He is better than he was in the car..." AJ said trailing off.

Kevin walked over to Becky and put his hand on her shoulder. She shook it off and squeezed Nick's hand. Kevin sat down in the chair behind Becky and watched her. Brian was still at the door.

"What's going on?" AJ asked looking at them puzzled. "Something is going on." he walked over to Brian who looked angry. "Come on you can tell me." he said putting his hand on his shoulder.

"It seems as though my "sister" has been going out with a murderer!" he said glaring at Becky's head.

"Brian!" Kevin said with a pained voice, "He was in the car, not driving!" Brian turned and stomped out of the room.

"What are you talking about!" AJ said getting frustrated.

"She has been going out with Lance Bass." Kevin said flatly.

"Yeah! I have! Is there anything wrong with that?" she yelled.

"Guys! Calm down! This is no time to be fighting! Nick is in a coma! He might DIE!" AJ yelled. "What's wrong with you?" he said as he left Kevin and Becky in the room ashamed and angry.

Everyone was sitting in Nick's room, silent. They had been there for hours and were too tired and sad about what was going on to do anything. Becky looked up from the floor to the door and gasped. The rest of the group turned to Becky and followed her gaze. It was Lance. Brian got up from his chair ready to attack, AJ grabbed him and pulled him back down. Becky got up and stood where she was.

"Hello Becky...I...I..." he said staring into her eyes trying to find the right words.

"Shut up!" she said running to him with her arms open, "Just shut up!" she said crying into his shoulder.

Brian turned his head, he couldn't believe that she still could like him after what he did to their parents. Beth looked at them happily not knowing what was really going on,

"They must really love each other!" she whispered to Howie "Who is he?"

Howie turned to her, "Don't you know? That's Lance Bass!"

"Is that supposed to mean anything?" she asked more confused. She looked back up to Becky and Lance, they were still hugging. Kevin got up and walked towards them. Lance let go of Becky and turned to him, his head held high.

Kevin stops and turns to give them a dirty, nasty look.

"Look, I know you hate me but I love your cousin and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. You can't stand in the way of our love," Lance pulls her hand and they walk down the hallway leaving them standing there stunned. They walk out of the hospital scared and confused.

"Do you think we should have done that," Becky said looking to Lance for reassurance.

"I don't know, but we just did," he said opening the door for her.

They drove to Becky's house to get some things, then they went to his house and got his stuff.

"Where are we going to go now? "Becky asked looking over at Lance who was thinking hard.

He pulls over to the side of the road and looks over into her eyes taking her hand "Becky, we both know the only way for us to be together is to get married. What I am trying to say is will you marry me?"

Becky's eyes fill with tears as she puts her arms around him and kisses him.

They speed to the airport and buy tickets to the next flight to Las Vegas.

"Beth, Beth wake up," was the next thing she heard.

"Nick, "she said only half awake.

"No Beth, it's me, AJ. Come on and wake up. I am going to take you home, "he said.

"But where is everyone else," she said opening her eyes and lifting her head up to look around.

"They've all gone home. You fell asleep. I want to take you home so you can get some good food, a good nights sleep, and a nice hot shower," AJ said helping her up.

"But Nick...." she protested.

"Nick will be fine for awhile," AJ explained," the doctor told us that going home and getting a good nights sleep was the best thing for us to do. Brian wanted to stay too but the doctor said that it would be best. We can come back first thing tomorrow morning OK."

"All right," she said reluctantly as she followed AJ down the hallway and out into his car. The pouring rain had turned into a snowfall and it looked beautiful outside.

On the way home AJ said, "You know Howie said that just before Nick got hurt you two fought. Do you want to talk to me about it?"

"Not really," was her answer as she began to cry again.

"It's OK, "AJ said putting his arm around her.

"No, it's not OK at all," Beth said. There was a long pause and then she said slowly and painfully, "I kissed Howie and Nick walked in and saw us and he freaked out and just ran."

"O my gosh! I had no idea," AJ said not believing what he was hearing. "I am so sorry. No wonder Howie was acting weird. He must just feel awful."

Beth just started to cry and AJ held her until they got home.

When they walked in Brian ran up to them and asked how he was doing.

"He is the same. The doctor said he would be OK until morning." AJ said.

Beth went upstairs to her room, closed the door and took a deep breath. She couldn't believe the things that had happened since she had been in here last. There was a knock on the door and Kevin popped his head in and said hi and that there was some hot food for her in the kitchen. Beth noticed that he sounded really depressed. Beth went downstairs and ate as much as she could force down, then she excused herself and took a nice, long, hot, bath to calm herself down. She felt a little better afterwards and went to bed and fell into a fitful sleep. At about 4:00 she woke up in a cold sweat. She got out of bed and walked into Nicks room. She just stood in the doorway and stared at all the familiar furniture. The room had an eerie, deserted feeling to it. Beth laid down on the bed and got under the covers. She fell asleep crying into Nick's pillow.

The next morning, in the kitchen, Brian and Kevin were sitting at the table drinking coffee. Brian's eyes were bloodshot and he had been up most of the night. Becky was still gone and they had no idea where she was.

Brian says, "Maybe we should go to the hospital."

"We should stay here in case Becky calls and plus we have to wait for Beth, Howie, and AJ," Kevin answers." Maybe we should call the police to look for her. She has been gone awhile and I am really worried about her."

" I don't know because she is with that guy, Lance. Maybe we should, I don't trust that boy at all," Brian says. He picks up the phone and calls the police. "Hi, My sister is missing and I'm really worried about her. She has been gone for about a day and she is with her boyfriend who I don't trust at all."

"I need a name sir," the officer said.

"Bass, Lance Bass," he said.

"No, the name of your sister please," he said.

"O, I am really sorry. I am really frustrated. Her name is Becky Littrell. She will be 18 in a couple days. I have no idea where she could be," Brian replies quickly.

"OK, sir, now we just need your phone number," the officer said.

"It's 555-0831," he said, "Thanks." He hung up the phone and turned to Kevin and said," Lets just pray they find her before she does something stupid."

Five days later Becky woke up. She rolled over and looked into Lance's beautiful brown eyes. He said, "Happy Birthday baby!"

"I love you Lance," she said putting her hands around his warm body.

"I love you too," he said holding her close. "Um, do you think that you should call your brother or something and tell him where you are and that you are OK. They can't do anything to you because you are 18. They're probably really worried about you."

"I don't know Lance, I don't know if I could..."

"Please Becky, I can imagine how they are feeling right now, but it's your birthday, they are probably worried sick," Lance interrupted her.

"I guess I will, but you have to stay with me," she said reluctantly. She got out of bed and picked up the phone. She slowly dialed the numbers. Feeling sick she grabbed Lance's hand for comfort. She squeezed it harder and she heard the familiar voice say, "Hello, hello."

"Hello," Becky managed to get out as the tears started once again.

"Becky, Oh my gosh, KEVIN!" Brian yelled. "Where are you?! Are you OK?! How could you do this to us?! Do you know how worried we have been about you?!"

"Brian," Becky yelled, "Slow down. I am fine. Lance and I are in Vegas and............"

"AND WHAT?!" he said, quite angry.

"And I-- we are getting married. You know Brian, it's my 18th birthday and I called so that you would know I was alive and well, you don't seem to care about that so I guess you don't care that it is my birthday either. I knew it was a mistake calling you," Becky screamed into the phone almost throwing it onto the floor. The only thing that kept her from doing that was Lance's strong arms around her.

"No! Please don't go! OK, just tell me where you are. I will fly out with Kevin, we can talk things out." Brian pleaded.

"If I let you come out here you are just going to try to make me go home!" Becky yelled.

"No! Becky I swear! Just let me come to see you. I will be nice to Lance, or try to be. Please just let me come out!"

"Well...."

"PLEASE!" Brian shouted.

"OK, I'm at the Stardust." she said softly. "Room 504."

"Great! We'll be there as soon as we can."

Becky hung up the phone slowly and turned to Lance.

"What's going on?" he asked reaching out and putting his hand on her shoulder. Becky started to cry and hugged Lance, clinging to him.

"Is it bad? Did he yell at you?" he asked rubbing her back.

"It's not bad, it's good, sort of. They're coming here on the next flight." she said sobbing.

"Well that can be good.....is he going to kill me or something?" Lance said laughing.

"That's not funny!" Becky said pushing Lance playfully. He fell off the bed, landing on his butt.

"Hey!" he shouted pulling her to the floor. Just then they heard a knock at the door. Lance got up and went to it, opening it. "Oh my god! Guys you came!"

"Of coarse we did!" JC said walking into the room patting Lance on the back, followed by Justin, Joey and Chris. Joey walked over to Becky and gave her a hug. "It's good to see you again!"

"I'm so glad you came!" she said hugging them all. "Thanks for coming, I thought it would just be me and Lance."

"We wouldn't miss this for the world!" Chris said happily looking out the window. "Wow! Look at this view!"

"So what do we do now?" Joey said sitting down on the couch.

"We have to wait for Brian and Kevin to come." Becky said putting her arms around Lance.

"They're coming!" Justin said, shocked.

"Yes, they don't like it, but they can't stop us." Lance said looking into her eyes.

The others sat down and waited for what was about to happen, knowing it wasn't going to be good.

Howie sat in Nick's room thinking about the past 5 days, they had been a nightmare. Beth was holding on, but just barely, and Nick showed no signs of waking up, in fact he was getting worse and the chances were getting slimmer every day.

"Come on Nick, you got to wake up. Not just for us, but for Beth. She is so upset and she hasn't stopped crying since you got hurt. Nick come on, for Beth. She loves you more than anyone else in the world and I don't want what happened to come in between you guys. You belong together and I know what happened is all my fault. Please forgive me Nick because I am so sorry," Howie said as tears slowly came streamed down face. His usual smile had faded into a sad frown.

Beth walked in the room with AJ and they sat down in there usual seats. The little white room had begun to seem so familiar to them all. For a while there was a silence. All they heard was the beep beep beep of Nick's numerous machines.

"Where are Kevin and Brian?" Beth asked looking around the room, "Are they still looking for Becky?"

"What? No, this morning they went to Vegas, Becky is going to get married." said AJ.

"Really?" Howie asked too surprised to say anything else.

"To...to Vegas? What about Nick?" Beth asked getting worked up. "They have been friends for a long time, how could she do this!"

Howie put his comforting arm around her and said, She had a good reason for it, there's probably more to the story than we know."

"Yea, your right I guess. I'm sorry Howie. I'm just really upset and scared right now," she cried into Howie's shoulder.

Meanwhile, everyone was waiting anxiously for Brian and Kevin . "Knock, knock". Lance jumped out his seat and ran to the door. Smoothing his clothes and taking a deep breath, he opened the door. "Please come in," he said with his arm extended.

Brian brushed past him and went right to Becky.

"O my gosh, I've been so worried," Brian said grabbing her hand.

"There was need to worry ," she said hugging Brian as Kevin walked up holding there suitcases.

"Here let me take those," Joey said.

"O thank you," Kevin said coldly while looking Lance up and down.

"UH..." Becky said glancing around worriedly, "We were just waiting for you to get here so we could go to the Chapel of Love and get married."

"I don't think you should go through with this," Kevin said putting his hand on her shoulder.

"What...?" Becky stuttered backing up and moving towards Lance, "I can't believe you are starting this up again. I already told you that I love him. There is no way you can keep us apart so don't try." Becky went to up to Lance and took his hand in hers.

Lance squeezed her hand and said, "We are going to get married and whether you come or not is your decision."

"I want to be at your wedding! I just don't want you to marry HIM!" Brian screamed to Becky.

"GOD!! I love him Brian! He may have been in the car that killed mom and dad, but he wasn't driving! The driver was his uncle! I bet you didn't know this either, his uncle had a heart attack and Lance couldn't do anything. The car just swerved and hit our car! It wasn't his fault!" Becky screamed, crying now.

Brian stopped and stared at Becky, then to Lance. "I still hate him." he said coldly. Becky gave out a cry and collapsed on the floor. She felt woozy, her head was spinning.

"Becky!" Lance shouted running to her side. "Are you OK?" He pulled her up and hugged her while he glared at Brian. He wanted to hit him, punch him, do anything that would hurt him. He couldn't, it would hurt Becky too much. "Shh." he said rubbing her back.

Kevin stood where he was, shocked. He couldn't believe that Brian just said that! "Brian!" Kevin gasped. Brian looked at Kevin.

"What? I told her the truth didn't I? I hate him, always have, always will."

"You Bastard! How dare you! Lance has never done anything to hurt you! Nothing! Get out!" she screamed pushing him out the door. "Get out! I never want to see you again! EVER!" She pushed him to the floor and spit on him. "Stay away from me!" she slammed the door and ran into Lance's arms.

Everyone was so shocked at what just happened they didn't know what to do, or say. Lance took a hold of Becky's hand and led her to the door. "Are you ready?" he asked smiling.

"Yes." she said wiping the tears from her cheeks. "Let's go."

Beth was sitting in Nick's room half asleep listening to the steady beep beep of the machines. She was thinking of all the times she had with Nick. They had pretty much given up hope on him. He had been in a coma for a week and a half now. The tears slowly dripped off of her cheeks onto Nick. She laid her head on his hand and whispered slowly, "I love you Nick, I am so sorry."

She laid there for a long time. Suddenly she felt a slight movement. She jumped up still holding onto Nick's hand. She looked at his face and saw his eyes fluttering. "Nick!" she gasped. She ran to the door and yelled down the hall, "Howie, AJ, Nick is waking up. Get in here now!"

Howie and AJ came running into the room just in time to see him open his eyes. "Nick, buddy , can you here me?" Howie said running up to him.

Just then the doctor came in, "Everyone move so we can see him." The doctor pushed them out of the way and started checking him. "Nick can you hear us."

"Beth, Beth," he managed to cough out.

"I'm here Nick, I'm here," Beth said pushing past AJ and grabbed his hand.

He put his frail hand on her face and said, "Your crying, Why are you crying?"

"Because I love you, I am glad you are OK," she said doing her best to smile for him but crying even more than before.

"Um, I'm going to have to ask you all to wait outside until we are done," the doctor said.

"But, I can't leave him, not now, I...."Beth stopped as Howie grabbed her hand and said," Come on, the doctors need to work," Beth reluctantly gave up and followed him out of the door.

Once they were out Beth said, "Do you think that he remembers?"

"I don't know but I hope not. At least not right away," Howie answered walking into the waiting room and sitting down in a chair, "But if he does and he says something I want you to be strong and tell him."

"All right," she said as the tears blurred her vision.

They waited for about ten minutes and then the doctor came out and said," You can go in now. He's in a lot of pain so be careful, also he has a mild case of amnesia so he might not be able to remember everything."

"I'm going to go and call Brian and Kevin and tell them," Howie said, "You guys go and I'll be there in a minute."

Beth and AJ went back to Nick's room. He looked worse than he did when he was in a coma. He was in a strange position and his eyes were all red and they stood out on his sickly pale face. Just looking at him made Beth wince. He looked awful. When they walked in he turned his head and gave them a sorta smile. It looked like it hurt to even smile. "Beth, AJ," he managed to say," What happened to me? The doctors wouldn't tell me."

"Nick, you got in a bad car accident," AJ said as he went to the side of his bed.

Beth just stood there not knowing what to do or say. She was scared to death to do anything. Then she remembered what Howie had said. Just act like nothing happened. She went up to him and took his hand in hers. He turned his head to her and said," Beth, I love you."

Beth couldn't stand it. The tears burned in her eyes and she just let them fall. AJ came up behind her and put his arm around her. Just then Howie walked in," Nicky, your awake."

"Howie hey," Nick said. Beth breathed a sigh of relief to be let out of that one for a minute. She turned around and cried into AJ's shoulder. AJ just held her for a minute and then he whispered," Just hang on because everything will be OK, just wait and see."

As Becky walked down the aisle she saw Lance waiting at the end. She looked at Kevin walking next to her. He smiled weakly and patted her hand. She looked ahead and saw Joey, JC, Justin, and Chris. They were sitting waiting for the ceremony to begin. Lance smiled with anticipation waiting for Becky to join him. Her heart leapt as she neared the alter. Kevin kissed her cheek and sat down next to Chris. Lance took her hand as the preacher started talking "Do you James Lance Bass take Rebecca Marie Littrell to be your lawfully wedded wife ....".

Lance looked deep into her eyes and said with all his heart "I do".

"Do you Rebecca Marie Littrell take James Lance Bass to be your lawfully wedded husband...."

"I do" Becky said as she felt the tears forming again. This was the happiest day of her life.

"Your are now pronounced husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride". There lips met and parted as Chris yelled

"You go Lansten" in his high-pitched birdie voice. Justin started hooting and Joey got up to kiss the bride.

Kevin got up and brushed a tear away from his eye. He hugged Becky and then shook Lance's hand, "Congratulations and welcome to the family," he said rather dryly.

JC hugged them and said congratulations. Then they all went out to dinner.

It was 20 minutes later and Howie and AJ had just left Nick's room. Beth stood there for a minute and then she went over to Nick.

"What's wrong?" Nick said, "Don't tell me nothing because I've known you too long."

"Well..." she began, "I really don't know how to tell you this, but I guess I'd better since you don't remember. There's a reason why you got in that accident other than the other driver being reckless..." she paused and looked up to see his face filled with emotion. She slowly got up and walked to the window. "It involves me and Howie..." her voice cracked and she felt the tears sting her eyes," That night me and Howie were playing Monopoly and you walked in and saw us doing something. It was wrong and we are both sorry."

"What... what are you talking about?" he said.

"Nick" she said turning to face him, "We kissed. You saw us and ran out." she said with tears rolling down her cheeks. "I am so sorry."

She looked at his emotionless face, "How could you!" he said with pain in his voice.

"Nick I..." she started.

"NO, just shut up ," he shouted.

She looked at him for a minute and ran out of the room. She found AJ in the hallway and said," AJ, take me home please... now."

"But..." he said," what about Nick?"

"Just take me home," she said looking at him.

"All right, "he said.

She followed him out to the car.

Meanwhile Howie walked into Nick's room.

"Where is Beth?" asked Howie.

"Yeah, I bet you want to know," Nick answered.

"What!" Howie said rather surprised.

"I know..." he yelled.

" What... what do you know?" Howie said. His usual smile had faded.

"She told me," he said, his voice cold.

"She told you?" he said not believing what he was hearing.

"Yeah, she told me everything," he said.

"So what are you going to do?" Howie asked sounding worried.

"Well what do you think I should do?" Nick screamed," I'm not the one that ran off and kissed my friend's girlfriend."

"Well, it was just an accident. We didn't mean anything by it," he yelled.

"Well you can't just kiss someone by accident," Nick screamed furiously.

"Nick, your one of my best friends, I would never do that to you," he said calming down a bit.

"Just shut up and get out of my room," Nick yelled.

Howie slowly walked out of the room not wanting to do any more to hurt Nick.

When Beth got home she gave AJ a brief hug and then went upstairs. She dialed Kevin's cell phone number and waited for him to answer. "Hello," she heard an unfamiliar voice say.

"Um, who is this?" she asked confused.

"This is Justin Timberlake...why," the voice answered.

"OK...Justin, why are you on Kevin's cell phone?" she asked.

"Well, he is in the bathroom... who is this?" he asked.

"This is Beth," she answered.

"All right, hold on, Kevin there's a Beth on the phone for you!" She heard him yell, "Just a minute." She waited a few more seconds until Kevin came to the phone.

"Hello? Beth is that you?" He said.

"Yes, it's me. I needed to talk to some one. Nick woke up...I told him about something that I did and he...He got mad at me, I wanted to know if I could come out there for a visit. I need to get away from here for a while."

"Oh," Kevin said softly. "I think that would be all right. I think you should come out here anyway." He said getting happier. "We have a surprise for you. I think you'll like it!"

"Great! I'll be out on the next flight. I have the name of the hotel and everything, so I should start packing. See you soon!" She said happily as she hung up the phone. "AJ! AJ!" She screamed as she ran down the stairs to the living room.

"What?" He said as he sleepily got up from the couch. "Is everything OK?" He asked.

"No, everything is OK. I'm going to Vegas!" She shouted as AJ stared at her.

"You're going to Vegas?" He said stunned. "What about Nick?"

"I'll tell you later, just help me pack!" She said as she ran upstairs to get her things.

"Brrrriiiiinngggg!" Becky rolled over and looked at the ceiling. "Brrriiinnnnngggg!"

"Are you going to get that?" Lance asked from under the pillow.

Becky groggily rolled over and picked up the phone. "Hello?" She said half awake.

"Becky!? It's me, Kevin. Beth is coming, she'll be here in about 5 hours."

"What? Why is she coming out here? Is Nick OK? Does she know about me an Lance?" Becky said sitting up.

"Will you keep it down? I'm trying to sleep over here!" Lance said as Becky threw a pillow at him.

"So why is she coming?" She repeated giving Lance a look as he sat up a frowned like a baby.

"I'll let her explain, she wouldn't tell me. No she doesn't know about you. What is going on over there?" Kevin asked as he heard a loud crying coming from Becky's end of the phone.

"Oh, nothing. My husband is being a baby. Ignore him." Becky said smiling.

"Hey!" Lance shouted.

"Anyway, I'll be over with the guys in a couple minutes OK?" Kevin said.

"OK, see you." She said as she hung up the phone. "Well, I guess I just found out your not a morning person!" Becky said as she walked in front of Lance and crossed her arms.

"No I guess I'm not!" He said as he grabbed her waist and hugged her. "So what is going on? Who is coming over?"

"Beth is going to be here in a few hours, I don't know why. And Kevin and the guys are going to be here in a few minutes, so we have to get dressed." She said trying to get out of his grasp.

"Awe! Do we hafta?" He whined.

"Yes!" She said as she heard a knock at the door. "See! Now they're here and I'm not dressed!"

Lance got up as Becky ran into the bathroom to get dressed. He opened the door wearing only his boxer shorts. "May I help you?" He asked as he dodged Justin's fist.

"Good morning dear!" Chris said as he walked into the room.

"Shut up!" Lance said, turning red.

"Hey," Kevin said. "Where is Becky."

"She's getting dressed." Lance said motioning to the bathroom.

"She was naked!" Justin shouted as he fell off the bed.

"No! I wasn't naked!" Becky said, walking over to Kevin and giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Morning! Lance you can stop blushing now." She said walking to Lance and hugging him.

"Is this it?" AJ asked as he followed Beth down the long hallway.

"No, AJ. It's this one." She said stopping at room 504 and knocking. She waited a few seconds and heard laughter and people running to the door. The door opened and she saw Becky, Chris and Justin.

"Beth! AJ!?" She said hugging them both. "Why are you here?" She asked AJ as she lead him into the room.

"I didn't want to leave Beth alone." He said. "Hey Kev!" Beth went up to him and gave him a hug.

"Long time no see!" She said as she looked around the room noticing all the people staring at her. "Hi!" She said sheepishly, waving.

"So you must be Beth." Justin said, walking towards her with his hand extended. She took his hand and shook it.

"You...You must be Justin!" She said loudly as she smiled.

"That's me!" He said happily. Becky, leading Lance by the hand, walked over to Beth.

"Um...Beth I want you to meet some one." Lance slowly walked to her, a smile on his face.

"Hi, I'm Lance." He looked back at Becky, not sure what to say.

"Oh, so you're Lance."

"Yeah, he is...Um, we...We got married." Becky said smiling, trying to control her excitement.

"You...you got married?!" AJ said, surprised.

"When did this happen?" Beth said giving Becky a hug..

"Yesterday, I'm sorry I didn't call you. We had to do it. It was yesterday, or never."

"What?" Lance said.

"Well that's what it felt like, I didn't want to wait." She said kissing him.

"Well congratulations!" AJ said, he looked around and noticed one person missing. "Where's Brian?" He looked at Becky and saw her turn her head to the floor, Lance put his arm around her. He turned to Kevin who looked just as upset as Becky. "Are you guys going to tell me what happened to him!? He isn't dead is he!"

"No, he's not dead." Kevin said. "We don't exactly know where he is."

"And we don't want to know where he is." Becky said angrily.

"Whoa! What happened!?" Beth asked, turning to Becky. "Is this about Lance?"

"Yeah, it's about me, he hates me, "Lance said.

"Yeah, I kicked him out and I don't want to see him again," Becky said as she leaned against of Lance for support.

" Well, don't you guys want to even try and find him," Beth asked rather shocked.

"No, I don't want to find him," Becky said coldly.

"I kinda want to know where he is," Kevin said.

Becky gave him a look but he ignored her. "Where should we go to look, "Kevin asked.

"I don't know, he could be anywhere," Beth said.

AJ spoke up," Maybe he is still in the hotel."

"How could you guys try to find him after what he did to me," Becky yelled as she ran into the bathroom. Lance ran after her.

Kevin turned to everyone and said," Tell them that we went down to the lobby when they come out."

Beth, Kevin, and AJ all went downstairs.

Kevin walked up to the desk and asked, "Is there a Brian Littrell staying here?"

"Let me check. Just a minute sir. "The clerk said," Yes he's in room 285."

"Thank you," Kevin said," Let's go," he said to Beth and AJ as they started walking down the hall. When they got there Beth knocked on the door. AJ yelled," Yo, Brian you in there?" They heard a thump and someone's heavy footsteps. The door slowly opened and Brian's red face appeared. His usual clean appearance had changed. His face had about 2 days worth of stubble on it and he was wearing a ratty old T-shirt and sweatpants. His eyes were red rimmed and he looked like he had been crying.

"Did she do it?" he asked Kevin.

"Sorry Bri, I couldn't stop her, "Kevin answered.

Brian sighed and walked back into the room leaving the door open. The shades were all shut, leaving the room dark.

They all walked in and Kevin said, "man you look awful!"

"Well I feel awful. How would you feel if you were in my position, "Brian said.

Beth and AJ exchanged worried looks," Brian you got to get yourself together. I've never seen you like this," AJ said.

Brian just buried his face in the pillow and said," I don't want to. Why did you come find me?"

"We came because we were worried about you," Kevin answered sympathetically.

"I guess Becky wasn't too worried then," Brian said lifting his head up.

Nobody said anything. They gave each other nervous glances and Brian just put his head down again.

"Bri, come on, get up, lets go out somewhere and have fun. It will get your mind off of things. How long has it been since you actually ate a meal, "Beth said grabbing his arm and pulling him off the bed.

"A while I guess," Brian said starting to give in.

"All right them. Take a shower and get cleaned up and meet my in the lobby in 1/2 hour," Beth said already halfway out the door. AJ and Kevin followed her.

Meanwhile back home Howie was sitting in the waiting room. He been sitting there for about 2 hours just thinking. He was so upset about what Nick did. Everyone hated him. All this mess was his fault. Beth would never say it but he knew that she blamed him for it and now Nick hated him because of it. His whole life was crashing down in front of him. Slowly he got up and walked to Nick's room. The door was slightly open and he took a deep breath. He opened the door and saw Nick sitting watching TV.

"Nick, can I talk to you?" he said hopefully.

Nick turned his head and looked at him, "I thought that you left."

"No, I've been sitting in the waiting room... Um, Nick, I just wanted to tell you that she really loves you and that the entire time you were in a coma she was a total wreck. All she did all day was sit by you and hope that you would wake up, but when you did look what happened," Howie explained.

Nick looked at him. Howie could see all the hurt on his face and slowly tears fell down his cheeks.

"Also Nick I just wanted to say that I am so sorry, about everything and I really, really hope that you can forgive me." Howie went on.

"Where did she go?" Nick asked.

"AJ took her home a while ago, I haven't heard from them," he said.

"Can you call and see if they will come back?" Nick asked.

"Of course," Howie said .

He pulled out his cell phone and dialed the number. He let it ring for awhile before he gave up.

"I was just trying to help, "Brian said.

"Well I don't want your help," Becky yelled getting up.

Brian just ignored her and went to the door. He pushed the button a couple times until the door opened. All they could see was the wall.

"Now look what you did you idiot!" Becky screamed.

"I didn't do anything," Brian yelled back.

"Well just get us out of here," Becky screamed.

"Well, how am I supposed to do that," Brian screamed back.

"I don't know just do something, anything. "Becky yelled.

"Why don't you get Lance to come and save you!" Brian said looking right at her.

Becky ran up to him and pushed him up to the wall. She growled ,"Don't you dare get Lance into this."

Brian looked at her and said calmly," Why, he got us into this in the first place."

"No, he had nothing to do with this. This was all your fault. If you would had accepted him none of this would have happened," she yelled letting go of him.

Brian looked at the floor in shame, not saying a word.

Becky sat down in the corner and rubbed her temples.

She shouldn't be here.

Meanwhile AJ, Kevin, and Beth were in the lobby waiting for Brian. AJ looked at his watch and said," Where is he. He was supposed to be here 30 minutes ago. Let's go see if he is in his room."

They all went up to his room and knocked on the door. Nobody answered and then they went back to Becky's room. Lance answered the door.

"Why isn't Becky with you?" Lance asked them.

"I don't know. We haven't seen her. We are looking for Brian. Have you seen him?" Beth asked.

"Why would Brian be here? Becky was coming to find you. You haven't seen her?" Lance said panicking.

"No, we haven't seen her, but we are worried about Brian," Beth said.

"Hold on," Lance said running to get his jacket. When he came back he said," I'll help you find them. They couldn't have gone far."

They all left and went to the elevator to go to Justin's room. The first one didn't work so they had to use the other one. When they got to Justin's room and Lance walked in.

"What's up, "Justin said looking up from the nintendo.

"You can't do that," Chris said.

"Yes he can," JC said from the couch. Joey walked out of the bathroom," Hey Lance, what's up!" he said.

"Becky is missing," he answered.

"Yeah, and so is Brian," AJ said.

Lance rolled his eyes," Yeah him too but have you seen her."

Justin said," Nope, haven't seen them."

"Where could she be. She said she was going downstairs. Where could she be?"

JC said," Why don't you go downstairs. She probably just missed you. You probably just missed Brian too. Just go downstairs and you will find them."

"OK thanks" Kevin said and they all went downstairs. They looked everywhere and couldn't find them. Then they went to the front desk to see if anyone had left a message. Nobody had.

"Now what," AJ muttered when they got back to the room.

"Why don't we split up and look for them," Kevin said," Me and AJ will go check the restaurants and Beth you wait in Brian's room to see if he comes back. He gave me a spare key. The rest of you go and search around for Becky. All right. "Kevin explained.

"I'll stay with Beth," Justin said.

"But," Beth started.

"That's a good idea. Just in case." Kevin interrupted.

Beth gave him a look but Kevin ignored it.

"All right everyone, let's go. If you find anything call Beth and she will page me," Kevin said taking charge. They all left. Beth got up and left not caring if Justin was behind her. He was unfortunately. She pulled out the key Kevin gave her and opened the door. Brian's room was exactly the same as before except he had opened the shades.

"So," Justin said sitting down on the bed," what should we do."

"I plan on ignoring you," Beth said angrily.

"Why do you hate me so much, I never did anything to you," he said sounding hurt.

"I'm sorry, I've just had like the worst week ever. I thought coming here would help, but it hasn't," she answered.

"Do you want to tell me about it," he asked.

"Not really, I really don't know you and plus why would you care," she muttered. She walked over to the window and looked out. It was snowing. It looked pretty but she really didn't notice it. Justin turned on the TV and flipped through the channels. Nothing was on so he turned it off again. He looked at Beth. She had this faraway look in her eyes and she looked like she was about to cry. He got up and put his arm on her shoulder. She shrugged it off and went into the bathroom.

Meanwhile back at home Nick was sitting in his room thinking if Beth really loved him would she have kissed Howie. He couldn't tell. All he knew was that he really, really loved her and that he had to do something. She definitely wouldn't talk to him on the phone. He decided to call Brian. He hadn't talked to his best friend since before the accident. He dialed Brian's cell phone number.

Meanwhile Justin was sitting in Brian's room trying to decide what to do when he heard a phone ring. He searched around for it and finally found it buried under some clothes. He answered it," Hello," he said.

"Hello, is Brian there?" he heard the voice say.

"No, I don't know where Brian is. Who is this?" Justin said.

"This is Nick. Who are you and why do you have Brian's phone?" Nick yelled.

"I'm Justin Timberlake. Hold on for a minute," he said. Then he yelled," Beth come here."

"Beth" Nick thought," Beth is there".

"Do you know a Nick, wait a minute, Nick what?" he asked.

"Carter" he answered.

"Nick Carter, "he heard Justin say.

"O my god, Nick is on the phone," Beth said.

"Yeah, here talk to him," Justin said handing her the phone.

"No, you tell him I won't talk to him," Beth said.

"She won't talk to you, I'm sorry," Justin said.

"Please let me talk to her. I really need to," Nick said begging.

"She won't talk to you," Justin said.

"Fine, just tell her I miss her," Nick said as he hung up the phone. He wondered where Howie had gone. Probably home. He didn't really care though. At least he finally had some peace so that he could think. He knew that he had to talk to her somehow, but he didn't know what to do.

Meanwhile, "Do you just like to answer other peoples phones, "Beth screamed.

"I'm sorry, I thought it would be Brian or Kevin or something," Justin said sheepishly.

"Why would Brian call his own phone?" Beth screamed, "You know what, from now on just mind your own business!"

"I'm sorry," Justin said softly.

Beth went and sank down in the chair. She felt awful. Nick had actually called. She didn't want to talk to him or anybody. Justin stood there for a minute and then knelt down next to her. He put his arm around her and for a minute they just looked at each other. Beth turned her head for a minute and then she turned around again and there lips met. Just then AJ walked in. "O my gosh, I'm sorry," he said.

"AJ wait, "Beth screamed.

"You were kissing Justin. What about Nick?" he said.

"I don't know. I really don't know but please don't tell anyone because it was just a one time thing," Beth begged.

"What," Justin said sounding surprised.

Beth and AJ just ignored him. "All right I won't. Anyway we found them," AJ said.

"Really, where," Beth said getting excited.

"They are stuck in the elevator," AJ exclaimed.

"Together," Beth said surprised.

"Yea, they have been in there for about an hour," AJ explained.

"Wow, where's Kevin?" she asked.

"He's getting someone to get them out," AJ said, "Come on, lets go," pulling her out of the door.

"How long have we been stuck down here?" Becky asked.

"How am I supposed to know," Brian yelled.

They had been fighting for over an hour. "I am so hungry," Becky said.

"Well all I have is a candy bar," Brian said.

"I have half a bag of chex mix," Becky said, "Do you want to split it?"

"I guess," Brian said reluctantly. He came and sat down next to her. It was the first thing they had agreed on since they had gotten stuck.

All of the sudden they heard a voice, "Brian, Becky can you hear me." It sounded like Kevin.

"Kev, is that you," Brian yelled standing up.

"Yeah, just hold on a minute and we'll get you out of there," he yelled back.

"All right," Brian yelled.

About 10 minutes later they felt a movement and suddenly the elevator came alive. When it was up on the floor Becky ran out into Lance's open arms.

"O Lance, I missed you so much," she gushed.

Brian stood there for a minute and glared at them and then went and gave Beth a hug. Then he walked her back to his room with AJ and Kevin. "We were really worried about you," Beth said giving him another hug, "Did you and Becky make up?"

"Not really, we mostly fought," he answered.

Three days later Howie was driving to the hospital to get Nick. He was nervous because Nick was still mad at him. He pulled into the parking lot and took a deep breath before he got out of the car. He walked to Nick's room and found him waiting there.

"Hey Nick," he said as cheerfully as he could, "ready to go."

"Yeah, just sign me out at the front desk, "Nick answered.

Howie helped him up and he walked him to the front. Then he signed him out. They were quiet all the way home. When they got home Howie helped Nick out of the car and into the house. "Where do you want to go?" Howie asked.

"I just want to go up to my room," Nick answered.

"All right," Howie said, "If you need anything just call me."

"Would you mail these letters for me?" Nick asked.

"Of course," Howie said glad that he was at least talking to him.

The past 4 days had been all right for Beth. She'd spent most of the time with Kevin, AJ, and Brian. Every time she saw Justin she had escaped, luckily. That night she was sitting in the hotel room with them when there was a knock on the door. Kevin got up and answered it.

"I have a letter for a Miss Beth Walker, "the man said.

"OK, thank you. Beth there's a letter here for you," Kevin said handing it to her.

Beth ripped opened the letter. It said:

Dear Beth,

Lying in your arms so close together, didn't know just what I had. Now I toss and turn cause I'm without you, how I'm missing you so bad. Where was my head, where was my heart, now I cry alone in the dark. I lie awake, I drive myself crazy thinking of you. Made a mistake when I let you go baby, I drive myself crazy wanting you the way that I do. I was such a fool I couldn't see it, just how good you were to me. You confessed your love, undying devotion, I confessed my need to be free. Now I'm left with all this pain, I've only got myself to blame. I lie awake, I drive myself crazy thinking of you. I made a mistake when I let you go baby, I drive myself crazy wanting you the way that I do. Why didn't I know how much I loved you baby, Why couldn't I show it if I had only known when I had the chance. O I had the chance. I lie awake I drive myself crazy thinking of you. I made a mistake when I let you go baby. I drive myself crazy wanting you the way that I do. I love you Beth.

Nick

Beth just stared at the paper as she let the tears come. AJ came and put his arm around her, but she stood up and said, "I have to go talk to someone."

She left and ran to the elevator where she saw Justin. She ran into his arms and cried into his shoulder. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

"It's OK," he said, "Come on, lets go and talk."

He led her up to his room. When they got there she sat down on the couch. "I'm going to make you some tea," he said. When he came back he sat down next to her, "All right talk," he said.

"Well, you know Nick," she started.

"Yeah, the one on the phone," he said.

"Yeah, well he's my boyfriend, sorta, well not really anymore, "she said," we got in this huge fight and so many people were involved. Anyway, today he sent me this," she said handing him the letter. Justin read it and then looked at her, "So what are you going to do?" he asked.

"I have no idea," she answered.

"So why did you come to me?" he asked.

"Because..." she started, "because I have feelings for you. I try not to but I do."

Justin just looked at her and then asked, "Do you love him?"

"Yes, I really do. But I don't think that's enough," she said as she started to cry again.

Justin put his arms around her and she cried again.

Meanwhile Joey and Lance were up in Lance's room talking.

"So Lance, how is it going. Everything with you and Becky OK," Joey asked.

"Well, not really. I thought getting married would help everything but it really hasn't. I mean I really love her, but sometimes I think that the only reason she stays with me is to make Brian mad.

"I mean ever since we got here all Becky has been talking about is how much a jerk he is. All they do is scream at each other and I know he hates me but come on, they are brother and sister. I really don't know what to do," Lance answered.

"I'm sorry, I thought that you guys were happy," Joey said sympathetically.

"Yeah so did I," Becky screamed bursting into the room," The only reason I tear Brian apart is because he is my brother and I love him."

Becky went up to Joey and kissed him like nobody had kissed him before. "Are you happy now?" she screamed. She kissed him again. "I hope you are happy now." Then she ran out of the room leaving them both shocked. She ran upstairs to Brian's room and banged on the door. He wasn't there so she ran down to Kevin's room and ran in not caring who was there. She ran straight into Brian's arms and said, "I'm sorry Brian, you were right. Please forgive me."

Brian stood there shocked and confused. Then he said, "It's OK just tell me what happened."

"I, I, Lance, he said," Becky got out in between sobs.

"All right, all right shhhh. It's OK," Brian said caressing her hair.

One single strip of sunlight came through his curtains.

Nick slowly opened his eyes still gripping his tear soaked pillow. It had been two days since he had sent the letter and he hadn't heard anything yet. His heart ached to her voice once again. There was a knock at the door. Howie stuck his head in and said, "Nicky?"

"Go away," came the horse whisper from under the covers.

"Come on Nick, you gotta get up," Howie said opening up the door and coming in, "you can't stay in here for the rest of your life."

"GO AWAY," he yelled.

Howie walked into the room, opened the curtains, and pulled the blanket off of Nick. "You have to get up, NOW," he yelled, "So get off your butt, take a shower, and get downstairs. I'm taking you out."

"No Howie. I don't want to. I don't feel good," Nick moaned.

"You haven't felt good for two days. It will do you good to get out. You can't just lay in bed and expect to get better," Howie said grabbing his arm and pulling him up, "Now get in the bathroom and take a shower, NOW," Howie said leaving the room.

Nick stood in the middle of the room shocked and confused, he turned slowly to the bathroom and walked in.

Becky knocked on Beth's door. Beth came to the door and said, "Becky!" as she hugged her.

"How could I have been so stupid?" Becky cried.

"You aren't stupid. You just got in a fight," Beth said with her arm around Becky's shoulder.

"I guess so," Becky said sadly, "Will you come and help me get my stuff from Lance's room?"

"Of course I will," Beth said sympathetically.

"Thanks," Becky sniffed as they walked out of the room.

They walked into the room expecting to see Lance. The room was empty, but the bathroom door was shut and the shower was on. The bed was unmade. Becky grabbed her suitcase and started scooping stuff out of the drawers. The bathroom door opened and out came a girl, "Lance? O hi," she said.

Becky froze and dropped the suitcase. "Who the heck are

you?" Beth yelled.

"Who are you?" she said back.

Becky bolted out of the room. Beth looked for a minute at her and then followed Becky. Becky was in the elevator slouched in the corner crying. Beth went and sat down next to her. Becky looked up at her and said, "How could he do this to me? I loved him."

Nick stopped at the bottom of the stairs. Howie's eyes widened, "Nick?"

Nick set his suitcase on the floor. "I'm going to Vegas Howie. I have to get her back. I'm going crazy. Please... don't try to stop me."

Howie was quiet for a moment and then he said, "All right but I am going with you."

He ran upstairs and grabbed his suitcase and threw his clothes in it. He then ran out to the car and hopped in. "I'm ready Nicky," he said. He drove to the airport and got there tickets. Then they boarded the plane and took off.

Becky was in Brian's room lying on the couch. Brian was sitting next to her and Kevin was standing by the window.

"Do I really have to say it?" Brian asked.

"Please, don't say anything Bri, not now anyway," she said hugging him.

"What are you going to do?" Kevin asked.

"I don't know," she answered, "I just don't know."

"I'm gonna kill him," Brian said coldly.

"Brian, just leave him alone," Becky said looking at him with tears streaming down her face.

"But he hurt you," Brian said.

"Shut up Brian. I never said that I didn't love him anymore," she said.

"Guys quit fighting. The last thing we need right now is for you two to get mad at each other again," Kevin cut in.

The phone rang and Brian answered it. "Hello," he said.

"Hello," came the deep voice.

"Goodbye," Brian said.

"No wait don't hang up. Please," he yelled. But it was too late. Brian had already hung up.

"She hung up," Lance said hanging up the phone.

"She just walked in and saw me and freaked. I can't imagine what she could have thought," Stacy said.

"Well I have to talk to her somehow," Lance said.

Joey put his hand on Lance's shoulder reassuringly, "Maybe she just needs time."

"I want her now," he said putting his head against the wall.

"Maybe I should go talk to her," Stacy said getting up.

"Lets all go," Justin said.

They all got up and went up to Brian's room. JC knocked on the door. "Who is it?" they heard Brian yell.

"It's JC," he yelled back.

"Just a minute," Brian said. He turned to Becky, "Should I?"

She nodded slowly, staring at the door.

He opened it, revealing, Lance, the girl from the bathroom, JC, Justin, Joey and Chris.

Becky gasped.

"Becky, please. Let me talk to you-"

"There's nothing to talk about Lance." She walked to the door, ready to close it.

JC stopped it with his foot. "Becky...give him the chance. You just misunderstood what you saw, that's all."

"Really? Did I? What would you do if some girl came out of your bathroom in a towel? What if your husband lied to you? What would you do JC?"

"Well, I would be scared...I didn't think he was like that." Chris said trying to brighten to the mood.

"Shut up, Chris." Lance said angrily.

"You did misunderstand...I'm-"

"I don't want to know who you are, I have a good idea of what you did." Becky said glaring at her.

"She's my sister!" Lance shouted.

"Yeah, sure. Real original Lance." Brian said pushing JC's foot from the door.

"I have ID!" Stacy shouted, digging into her purse. "I can prove it." She held out her driver's license, pushing it into Becky's face.

"Oh, God...Lance...I'm..."

He walked up to her, grabbing her, tears forming in his eyes.

"I thought you'd never get it right...I thought I lost you!"

Brian watched from the couch, glaring. Did she just forget about the other argument.

Justin walked up to Beth's door and knocked.

"Coming!" She yelled running to the door. "Oh, hey!"

"I have come to take you to dinner." he said with his arm extended.

"Oh...Well what about AJ?"

"Well, every one is coming. I just wanted to pick you up." He said smiling.

"OK, AJ!" She yelled into the room.

He ran out of the bathroom in a towel. "What!" He shouted, looking worried.

"I'm going to dinner, meet you downstairs."

"Is that all! I thought you were being murdered." He marched back into the bathroom, water dripping from his hair.

Beth laughed and turned back to Justin. "I'm ready."

They walked to the elevator arm in arm.

When in the elevator Justin turned to Beth. "Um..."

"Spit it out." She coaxed, smiling up at him.

"Well you know the thing you told me the other night..."

"Which thing?" She asked smirking.

"Well...You know." He said blushing.

"No, I don't." She said laughing.

"I like you too!" He shouted.

She beamed, "I knew it."

"Then why'd you make me say it?!"

"It's nice to hear you say that..."

They looked into each other's eyes, Justin pulled her close.

They began to kiss.

Nick walked down the hallway...Room 392...392.

He knocked on the door.

Waited.

No answer.

He knocked again.

Waited.

No answer. He turned to Howie, "Where could they be?"

He shrugged. "Maybe they went to eat."

"Good idea." Nick turned and walked downstairs.

"Come on guys, I have a surprise for Becky. I need your help." He smiled and kissed her cheek, then left.

"All right." Justin said letting go of Beth's hand, under the table.

Brian grabbed Becky's arm, "I have to talk to you...alone!" His voice deep, in a whisper.

"O-OK." She stuttered.

He dragged her to the bar.

"What is this all about Bri?" She asked, confused.

"Lance-"

The music started.

She turned to the stage.

Lance walked to the mike. "Becky, I wrote this for you. I hope you like it." He smiled as JC began to sing.

"You sheltered me from harm, you kept me warm. You kept me warm. You gave my life to me. Set me free, set me free. The finest years I ever knew, were all the years I had with you." He stopped and laughed. "I don't know the words," he mouthed to Kevin.

"I would give anything I own, give up my life, my heart, my home. I would give everything I own, just to have you back again."

Justin began to sing, staring at Beth. He lifted the paper, "You taught me how to love. What it's of, what it's of. You never said too much, but you still showed the way. And I knew from watching you nobody else could ever know, the part of me that can't let go."

Everyone sang "I would give anything I own, give up my life, my heart, my home. I would give everything I own, just to have you back again."

Chris stepped up to the mike, rustled his paper and sang, "Is there some one you know, your loving them so, but taking them all for granted."

Joey chimed in, "You may lose them one day, some one takes them away. And they don't hear the words you long to say."

Everyone sang the Chorus.

Lance stepped up and looking into Becky's tear filled eyes said, "Baby, my love for you will always stay true, that's right. Cause there is no me, without you." He winked.

They all sang the last chorus.

The music stopped.

Becky ran to Lance and threw her arms around him. "That was beautiful." She whispered.

"What the...!" AJ screamed.

Everybody turned to the door.

"Nick!" Beth gasped.

"I don't think you should do this..." Howie whispered into Nick's ear.

"Back off Howie, I think you've done enough." He walked to Kevin. "Could you help me for a minute?"

"Sure..." Kevin said looking at Howie for answers.

Justin walked behind Beth and put protective arms around her waist.

Nick turned to the mike, "I wrote this while I was in the hospital."

Howie sat next to AJ. "He's going to make a fool of himself."

"Do you really think that, or do you hope that?" AJ asked still looking at the stage.

Howie sank into his chair.

Kevin started playing the piano, Nick took a deep breath and sang,

"Open up your heart to me, and say what's on your mind. I know that we have been through so much pain."

He closed his eyes and took a shaky deep breath.

"But I still need you in my life, this time. I need you tonight, I need you right now. I know deep within my heart, it doesn't matter if it's wrong or right. Cause I see heaven in your eyes."

He opened his eyes and looked into hers.

"I figured out what to say to you. But sometimes the words come out so wrong. I know in time that you will understand me, that what we have is so right, this time."

A single tear rolled down his pale cheek.

"And I need you tonight, I need you right now. I know deep within my heart, it doesn't matter if it's wrong or right...

Cause I see heaven, in your eyes...All those endless times when we tried to make it last forever more and baby I know I need you, I know deep within my heart, it doesn't matter if it's wrong or right. Cause I see heaven, I need you tonight, I need you right now. I know deep within my heart, it doesn't matter if it's wrong or right...Cause I see heaven...in your eyes..."

The tears now cascaded down his cheeks.

He stepped off the stage and ran out of the room.

She looked over to Justin, tears in her eyes. She was so confused...

"I-" She paused then got up, leaving the table...And Justin, alone.

Nick squatted in the elevator, leaning against the wall for support.

Tears flowed down his cheeks in an endless river.

Oh God! What have I done! I didn't just do that!

His mind swam.

He loved her so much, what did he just do!

When he had looked at her during the song, he hadn't been able to read her eyes.

They were emotionless.

But...they had, had tears in them.

His heart filled with hope.

He brushed the tears from his eyes and stood up.

He was determined to get her back.

She threw herself onto her bed, sobbing.

Why did you have to do that, Nick!? Why! I thought I had figured everything out! Oh, Nick! Why?!

She was confused...so very confused.

She loved Justin...

She loved Nick...

Justin was here, here for her now...

Nick wanted to be there for her...

But Justin was with her NOW...

"OH!" She sighed loudly.

There was a knock at the door.

She wiped her tears away frantically, "Who is it?" Her voice came out raspy.

"Um, Nick..."

Nick!

She ran to the door, opening it.

There eyes locked, they stared into each other's eyes.

"Why-"

Nick stopped her with a passionate kiss.

She grew dizzy, leaning in to the kiss.

She pushed him away..."No, Nick. Now, not like this...Please."

She turned away from him, walking to the window.

"But-Don't you love me?" He asked walking towards her his hand out.

"Nick-I can't!" She sobbed, her back turned away from him.

He touched her back lightly, caressing her neck.

She closed her eyes, his touch was soft, comforting.

"Don't you love me?" He asked his voice quivering.

She looked down at the floor for a long time, then looked up to him, tears stained on her cheeks.

"I don't know. I just don't know anymore."

The restaurant was quiet.

No one spoke a word, they were too confused with what had just happened.

Justin stared at the floor, hurt.

AJ put his arm around his shoulder.

"You shouldn't have come here Howie...Why didn't you stop him?" AJ asked, anger in his voice. "She left to get away from you two, then you just show up!"

"I couldn't stop him! There was nothing I could do, he was coming whether I liked it or not."

"Then why did you come?" Kevin asked.

"I-I wanted to be here for Nicky." He said turning his glass around the table.

Becky looked for the truth, and found it, in his eyes.

She gasped.

"Howie! You love her!"

He looked up, shocked.

"Wh-What-How!?"

AJ pushed his chair away and stomped out of the room.

Becky watched him leave. "That's it isn't it?"

No answer, her stared at the floor.

"Howie-"

Brian hit his sister's arm. She looked at him, confused. He shook his head. She leaned into Lance's shoulder, watching Howie begin to cry.

Nick sat on Beth's bed, watching as she paced the room.

There was silence, no one made a sound.

"I just don't know, Nicky. I need time, I think you should leave."

"But-" He tried to protest, but stopped when he saw her eyes. "Fine...I'll go."

He put his head down as he slowly walked out the room, shutting the door quietly behind him.

She sighed, then sat on the bed.

Her tears were dry now.

She put her head in her hands and closed her eyes.

A soft knock at the door knocked her out of her trance.

"Who is it?"

The door opened, Justin appeared in the doorway.

He stared at her.

She stared at him.

After a moment she ran into his arms.

"Justin!" She cried.

He put his hand on the back of her head, pressing it into his chest.

He squeezed her tightly.

She cried, while he held her in the doorway.

Nick turned the corner, he had to talk to her again.

He stopped in his tracks.

What he saw ripped his heart out.

Justin...Justin was holding her...tightly.

She was clinging to him, holding him...

She must not love him...How could she if she was holding him...

He felt his knees grow weak.

He fell to the floor.

"Nicky! Are you OK?" AJ shouted running to help his friend.

Nick held up his hand. "AJ, I'm fine. Don't help me, I can do it!"

He shakily got to his feet.

AJ looked down the hallway.

"Oh, no. Nicky..."

"What?" He asked sounding annoyed.

"Beth...You saw her."

"Wait! You knew!" He asked as he turned to him, hate in his eyes.

"I-You didn't give me a chance...I didn't know you were coming." He asked walking toward him.

"Get away from me!" He yelled as he ran down the hall, away from AJ...Away from his one and only love.

He held her hand as Brian began to speak, "I-I was wrong."

"What?" Lance asked, shocked.

"I was wrong about you... I'm sorry."

Becky's breath caught in her throat. She squeezed Lance's hand.

"I don't know why I acted the way I did... But when I saw you singing to my sister tonight... I'm sorry." He extended his hand for Lance to take.

Lance stood and looked at Brian's hand and smiled. Lance grabbed Brian and hugged him.

Brian was shocked. He patted his back and tried to back and tried to back away. Lance held tight. He patted his back again.

"You can let me go now." He said smiling.

"Oh, yeah," Lance said blushing.

Becky sat on the couch, tears in her eyes.

"Brian... Oh!" She lept off the couch and jumped into his arms. "I love you, Little Duck!"

He laughed, hugging her back. "O love you too melon head."

"I told you never to call me that," she laughed as she cried.

"Melon-head? Little Duck?" Lance asked, a confused look on his face.

"Long story babe," she said grabbing his arm.

"Why did you come Howie?" Kevin yelled.

"I told you, I came for Nicky!"

"I don't believe you," he growled, "Is it true? Do you love her?"

Howie didn't answer.

"Do you?" he shouted grabbing Howie's shirt.

"Yes!" he yelled, "Is that what you want to hear, fine yes but I don't see what that has to do with me being here."

"Your messing with her head Howie! You can't do that."

"But she kissed me too!" Howie burst out.

"What?" Kevin asked angrily.

"Didn't you know," Howie asked looking at him.

"Know what?" Kevin asked in Howie's face.

"We kissed," he whispered.

"What? When? What are you talking about?"

"The night Nick had his accident... He saw us... he ... Oh God! I didn't mean to!" he cried grabbing Kevin's shirt," I didn't mean to!"

Kevin shook himself out of his shocked daze. He pushed Howie away.

"Does she know?" he asked calming down a little.

"No," he said meekly.

"Good, keep it that way," he said walking away.

Then next morning:

Justin sat across from Beth at the table.

She looked up at him with love in her eyes. She was happy. For once she was truly happy.

Justin beamed at her, eating his Apple Jacks.

"You having a good time stealing my girlfriend?" Nick said, angrily as he walked by.

"What?" Justin shouted, standing up from his chair.

"You heard me!" He said pushing Justin.

"Guys don't" Beth pleaded.

"Stay out of this, baby. I can handle him." Justin said to her.

"Oh, so now you boss her around too!" Nick said glaring.

"What's your problem?"

"You!" Nick pushed Justin again. Justin punched Nick sending him flying into a nearby table.

AJ and Kevin ran in and pulled them apart. Brian went up to Beth, putting his arms around her. She was in shock.

"What's the matter with you two?" AJ yelled.

Panting Nick said, "If he hadn't stolen my girlfriend I wouldn't have had to hit him." He had cereal and milk in his hair.

"Stop talking about me like I'm some kind of property!" Beth screamed.

"He started it!" Justin yelled.

"Would you stop fighting!" Beth screamed as she stomped out of the room.

AJ followed her. Kevin stood in between Nick and Justin and said, "My God! Look at you guys. I feel sorry for Beth, but you-your just pathetic! She loves you both and this is what you do to her! I suggest you both just leave her alone for a while."

Nick was silent as he slowly left, brushing the milk from his hair. He went up to Brian's room and slammed the door. He buried his face in his pillow and cried.

Beth was upstairs in her room, recovering. AJ brought her in some tea and sat down next to her. "What am I going to do?" She said still sobbing.

"I can't tell you that...You're the only one who can decide." AJ answered.

"I am so sick of this!" She cried. "I just want everything to be like it was before Nick had his accident. I just want to go home. Nothing will be the same again! Nothing!" She put her head on his shoulder.

"I know, I know." AJ said comfortingly. "I do too, but you just have to do what your heart tells you to do."

"The whole time Nick was in a coma. All I wanted to do was put my arms around him and be able to know that everything was fine, but it was just the opposite. AJ I still love him. But I don't know what to do!" She said crying even harder.

"Shh, Don't think about that right now. Just relax. AJ said.

"How can I forget! I love them both!"

Justin could barely get himself together to knock on her door, but he did. The door creaked open, revealing Beth's tired face. She looked into his bloodshot eyes. They showed her pain... and love. Tears rolled endlessly down his cheeks. He stepped forward.

"Beth- Beth I have to talk," he choked.

She nodded, leading him to the couch.

"Please forgive me!" he sobbed grabbing her hands into his. "I-I oh God, Beth I love you! I haven't been the same since I met you! I don't know why, or how, but I've grown to love you. I've only known you a couple of weeks... You're the strongest girl- no woman I've ever known. I love you!"

Her face showed no emotion other than shock.

He waited, his breath coming out hard, for her to speak.

Joey opened the door to Becky's room slowly, peeking his head in.

"Joey?" Becky asked standing up from her chair by the window.

He rushed to her side, wrapping his arms around her. He kissed her deeply.

"What the hell are you doing!" she yelled pushing him away.

"Come on, you don't have to pretend, Lance isn't here," he said leaning in for another kiss.

"Whtrewtkgof!" she mumbled trying to push him away

"What's your problem? I know you like me. That kiss...that was unbelievable! I know you wanna."

He leaned in kissing her again. The kiss was full of desire and need. She slowly wrapped her arms around him and began to kiss him back. He lowered her to the bed...

Outside in the hallway:

Brian opened the door. "Hey guys, we want to-Whoa!" He stopped, the door open wide as his mouth.

Becky pushed Joey off her, wiping her lips "Brian it's not what it looks like!"

"Oh, so you weren't making out with Joey!?"

Joey ran out of the room, leaving Becky alone.

"No-I mean yes! Oh no! Don't tell Lance! Please!" She begged running to him, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Becky, he's your husband!" Brian said glaring "We were right, it was too soon. You shouldn't have married him."

"No, Brian No!"

Brian turned angrily and walked down the hall dragging Becky behind him.

"Kev, AJ." Beth said coming into Kevin's room where they were watching TV. "Um, I want to go home."

"What? Where did that come from?" Kevin asked standing up from the couch.

"I can't take it anymore. I need peace. I need to be home."

AJ put his arm around her. "If it's really what you want, I'll go with you."

"Thanks AJ, that's sweet. I'd like that."

"I'll go to, There's no reason for me not to." Kevin said from beside her.

"You guys...what would I do without you?" She said wrapping her arms around them.

Brain neared Kevin's room, Becky still hanging on him, pleading for him to stop.

"Brian Please!" She begged.

He paid her no attention and opened the door.

"Brian what's going on?" Kevin asked.

He saw Becky.

"What's wrong Hon?" He asked picking her up from the floor.

"I saw her making out with Joey. I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn't walked in."

Kevin stared shocked at Becky. She was a mess, a blubbering, sobbing mess.

"What?" AJ asked, confused.

"You heard me." Brian said walking to the window.

"You don't understand!" She cried.

"What's there to understand? Huh?" Brian shouted angrily in her face.

"What's going on?" Lance asked from the doorway.

Becky turned to him, fear in hr eyes.

"Where should I start?" Brian said sarcastically.

"Brian! NO!" She screamed.

"Why not?"

She tried to think of an excuse, but none came to her.

"Please! Just don't tell him!"

"Tell me what!? Why are you crying?" Lance asked getting annoyed.

"I found-"

"NO! BRIAN!"

"Joey and-"

"Brian!" She screamed gripping his shoulder painfully.

"Becky on your bed...Well you fill in the rest." He said calmly, ignoring his hysterical sister.

The blood rushed from Lance's face. His heart stopped. He lost all feeling in his legs. His knee's buckled.

Joey? My best friend!? Becky!

Rage overcame him.

He ran from the room...to kill Joey...

Joey was blindly throwing clothes into his suitcase when he heard the door crash open, Lance's furious face appeared before him.

"Lance, I can explain..." Joey said his hands up.

Lance's fist flew into Joey's face. He fell to the floor, blood trickled from his nose. Lance kicked him over and over again. JC, Chris, AJ, Kevin, Brian and Becky ran into the room. Kevin and Chris pulled him off of Joey, kicking and screaming. JC helped Joey off the floor.

"I'm going to kill you, you bastard! You're my best friend! My best friend!" He screamed struggling to get loose from Kevin's grip. "She's my WIFE!"

Beth heard a soft knock on her door.

"Come in," She yelled packing the last of her stuff into her suitcase.

The door slowly opened and Nick stepped in.

Beth dropped the clothes in her hand. "Nick-What-"

"I just came to tell you I'm going home. My flight leaves in a few hours, so I have to go."

"I'm going home too." She said still staring at him.

"Oh." He said avoiding her eyes.

She picked up the clothes she dropped and jammed them into her suitcase. "Well, this is weird."

"Why do you love him?"

"What?" She asked, surprised.

"Why do you love him, and not me?"

She stared at him, pain in her eyes. "I don't know why, I just do."

The room was silent. Both of them not ready for what was about to happen. There short marriage was ending.

"Why did you do it?" Lance sobbed, a steady rush of tears flowing down his cheeks.

She lifted herself from the bed. She was tired. She choked back a sob rising in her throat. "I-I don't know." She almost whispered.

"Do you love me?" He cried.

"Yes! I do! I love you more than-"

"Then why did you do it! Why did you kiss him!? You're my wife." He shouted lifting his head from his hands.

"I told you I don't know! He came in and started kissing me...I had not time to react!"

"You could have stopped him!...Do you love him!?"

"No I don't even know him! Please! I love you! I want you! It meant nothing to me! I swear I love you! You're the only one I have ever truly loved!" She begged, holding on tightly to his hands.

"How can I trust you? He was my best friend!" Lance sobbed, feeling the warmth of her hands seeping through his skin. He pulled them away. "He was my best friend!" He cried.

"Let's go home then. There's too much here, we need peace and quiet. All this noise and confusion is just messing with our heads."

"That's not your excuse is it?" He asked coldly.

"No." She whispered, her head down. "I just want to work through this...I don't want to lose you." Another tear rolled down her cheek, he wanted to wipe it away, but...

"Let's get the first flight out of here." He said getting up. She watched his every move, hope filled her heart.

"Does that mean we're going to work it out?"

"Let's just go home."

Three groups of tired people sat in the terminal waiting for there flights home.

Beth sat with Justin next to her, staring at Nick, who was directly opposite her. AJ, Joey, JC and Chris sat next to him. Joey's nose was bandaged, it had been broken.

Becky sat with Lance, Brian, and Kevin. A bag sat in between Lance and Becky.

Nick and Howie sat next to each other, both silent. Angry word floated above their heads, no one dared to speak them.

Little by little the groups left to get on their flights.

They were going home.

As Nick's car pulled into the drive he noticed a new car parked in his spot.

"Who could that be?" Howie asked.

"I have a feeling I know..." He said carrying his bags into the house.

He opened the door, Howie walking behind him trying to catch up.

Kevin greeted them at the door, he picked up Nick's bag and helped him bring his stuff upstairs. As they neared his room he heard shouts coming from down the hall. He looked at Kevin, whose face was pale and tired with grief.

Nick nodded, understanding, and went into his room.

"I take it they aren't any better."

"No they aren't...It's been hell." Kevin said sadly.

"And...the car, is it?"

"Yes, he's moving in." Kevin said walking to the doorway, wincing as he heard another shout. "I have to get out of here, I'll be back in a few hours."

Nick sighed and began to put his clothes away. Beth walked into his room. "You're back."

He turned around. "Yeah..."

Silence...

"Nick, do you think in any way we could be friends?" Beth asked.

"I don't know," he answered softly, "I don't know if I could handle it."

"Oh," Beth said sadly as she left.

Nick watched the doorway as she left not even trying to keep the tears from falling. He loved her so much and it hurt him so bad to see her with Justin.

Becky sat in the hospital room, her face pale with shock. The doctor was speaking but she heard none of it.

You're pregnant

"Ma'am..." The doctor called to her.

"Oh, yes I'm sorry. Thank you." She got off the bench and got dressed. She walked out of the hospital in a daze. Her car drove slowly down the street towards her house. Becky was too shocked.

I'm pregnant!

She was 18, married...and now pregnant!

She parked the car by the curb and sluggishly walked to the house. She opened the door to find Justin and Beth on the couch watching TV.

"Hey, were have you been?" Beth asked looking up at her.

"Doctor." She said softly, her eyes staring into space as she walked up the stairs.

"You think it's bad news?" Justin asked looking to Beth for answers.

"Well with the way things are going you never know..."

Becky walked into her room, Lance was asleep. She kneeled down beside the bed. He had bags under his eyes, his face was white.

She poked him in the side, he opened his sad eyes quickly.

"What?" His voice was emotionless.

"We have to talk, it's important." She said pleadingly.

"I told you I can't talk anymore today, just let me rest, please. I am sick of talking."

"This is different, Lance. Please!" She begged.

He sat up, slowly. "Fine, what is it."

"I just came from the doctor."

"So..." he laughed, "Don't tell me your pregnant."

She was silent.

He stopped laughing. "What? You aren't are you?"

She looked down at the bed, tears filling her eyes.

"Oh god! You're..."

She nodded.

"Well...This is something..."

She let out a sob. He stared at her, unsure of what to do. His wife was crying in front of him, yet he couldn't bring himself to comfort her...not after what she had done to him. She was sobbing now, her head in her hands. He felt his heart break a little more with each sob. He let his feeling go and grabbed her, squeezing her tightly to his body.

"It'll be OK. We're going to be OK, now."

Justin held her in his arms. She was asleep now, he turned off the TV and laid her out on the sofa, covering her with a thin blanket. He looked up, Nick was standing by the stairs.

"She fell asleep." Justin said pointing to Beth.

"I can see that." Nick said walking towards the kitchen.

Justin glared at him, then walked to the door, grabbed his jacket and went home.

Nick came out of the kitchen and went to Beth's side. He caressed her face with his hand and let a tear fall down his face.

She had a glow to her skin, she was happy. He knew she was. He couldn't stay...He'd tell her in the morning, let her sleep.

He walked back up to his room, into the darkness. He'd never come out of it...Without her.

Lance watched her sleep. Her face looked happy. The sadness was gone. As she opened her eyes, they both new...It was going to be OK. She smiled.

"Are we OK?" She asked, her voice shaky.

"We'll need some help...But right now, we are OK." He said with a weak smile. The image of Joey holding her in his arms flashed in his mind, piercing him. He brushed it away..."We'll get there someday."

"I'm moving out." He said, looking into her eyes.

"When?" She asked, fighting back the tears.

"Today...As soon as possible." he noticed some hurt in her eyes and felt a rush of hope. "Are you OK with that?"

"Yeah, I'm fine...We'll keep in touch, right?"

I will survive without you

"Are you sure, cause I could stay..."

Don't tell me that you wanna leave.

"No, go. It's probably best if you did."

If you wanna leave, I wont beg you to stay.

"Yeah, that's what I thought too." He said walking closer to her.

And if you gotta go darlin' maybe it's better that way.

He gave her a hug, it was warm and soothing...The same word lingered on their lips...Stay

I'm gonna be strong, I'm gonna be fine. Don't worry about this heart of mine.

He let her go, she lingered for a moment then opened her eyes.

I don't have the time, see if I care, go on and go.

He picked up his bag and started to walk down the hall.

But don't turn around, cause your gonna see my heart breakin'.

He found Brian and gave him a bear hug. "I'm gonna miss you Frick."

Don't turn around. I don't want you seein' me cry.

"I'll miss you more Frack." Brian said letting him go.

Just walk away.

He looked around the hall one last time, his heart tugging at him.

It's tearin' me apart that you're leaving, I'm letting you go.

She walked towards him, following him down the stair. "Don't do anything...He wants to leave." She told herself.

But I won't let you know.

The stairs were full of people waiting to say good bye to him.

I won't let you know.

As everyone said their good bye's she watched his face. He was happy, he was leaving.

I won't miss your arms around me, holding me tight.

She could feel his arms around her, feel his kisses...

Holding me tight.

She shook the thought away and put a smile on her face.

And if you ever think about me, just know that I'll be all right.

Nick forced the tears back into his eyes. He had all ready made his decision, he was going. She didn't need him.

I'll be all right.

He took a deep breath and opened the door.

I will survive, I'll make it through.

He turned around and took a good look at the house.

I'll even learn to live without you.

He saw her face in the crowd before him, happy and uncaring.

I wish I could scream out loud that I love you.

Words were on her lips that she couldn't say...

I wish I could say to you don't go.

She waved as he turned and stepped out of the house.

As he walks away feels the pain getting strong.

She ran to the door and watched as he stepped in the cab.

People in his life, they don't know what's going on.

He closed the door with a loud slam, breaking her heart.

To proud to turn around.

The cab drove away...Leaving her in tears on the porch.

He's gone.

She sat on the steps, her heart and mind telling her she had just made the biggest mistake of her life.

She put her head in her hands and sobbed, the people inside the house knowing they couldn't do anything...Justin had left long ago, knowing she loved Nick, not him...

Beth rose to her feet and turned to the house.

She heard a car door slam.

She turned around in time to see Nick running to her, his arms open wide.

He grabbed her and hugged her, tightly.

She kissed him.

"I love you!"
