Bitches and Ho, Ho, Hos.

Show details:

Attended With: Pat. Anthony was going to go with us, but couldn't swing taking a final, moving out, and coming back to the YC all on the same day.

Venue: The Boathouse, Hampton, Va.

Opening Act: Nope. This was a rap show.

Highlights: We knew this was going to be a different sort of evening, when we were getting close to the Boathouse and this car stopped next to us, and the dudes inside asked us to roll down the window. This wasn't a problem, except we took it as a threatening gesture, and looked away. Once we all got it worked out, and it was established that we had no weed to sell, everything was straight. At the parking lot, Pat immediately yells "I SEE WHITE PEOPLE!" with the window down. This was also the only concert I've ever been frisked at, with the guy at the door going "you know you've been through it before." The actual show itself was cool. The album these two did together is probably my favorite rap CD ever, so hearing these songs performed live, and knowing the words to them, made me feel hardcore. Seeing Meth and Red smoking the people in the fronts weed, inviting fat girls onstage to get naked, and so on was funny as hell, as was the fact that the first sign of any of them we saw was a big mascot Redman and a couple of overweight women in nurses uniforms.

Lowlights: The fact that Meth and Red came out an hour and 45 minutes late, and ended every single song they played with a sampled car crash sound about two thirds of the way through. Either they didn't remember them, or maybe they just didn't want to finish, but either way, it was sort of weak in that respect. This is the sort of show you pay to see once, but you damn sure don't do twice.

Setlists

Method Man and Redman setlist: Unknown for sure, but most of the Blackout album, along with some of the singles off of their most recent solo efforts were played. They also did some freestyles, and a cover of Jump Around.
