Attended With: Pat. I think this is the first and only Warped Tour that I went to, and hung out with the same person for the entire show.
Venue: Apparently, they tired of the Hampton Coliseum after the previous year, and decided the VA Beach Amphitheater would be better. They were wrong.
Opening Act: The usual set of boring skateboarders and small punk bands doing bad covers of bad pop songs.
Highlights: Once we left the show, Pat and I went first to Wendys, where we sank our teeth into delicious Spicy Chicken sandwiches, and then we went to 7-11, where we picked up Slurpees for the ride home. This was by far the best moment of the show. I love chicken sandwiches and slurpees. No, seriously. I guess other good moments were Jimmy Eat World (starting a precedent of my favorite band there going first that would continue the next year), and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. I guess joining everyone else there in booing Kool Keith off the stage was fun. Seeing Flogging Molly play basically the same songs was fine. Other then that, your guess is as good as mine.
Lowlights: Everything else. Having Rancid as a headliner was like having my ears put through a blender. The side stages, sometimes home to aspiring talent, was home to "nu-metal rap rock that sucks balls" this time around. Seeing D12, but having that be the "moment" with your girlfriend at the time. I don't really remember what bands were on this tour, or what they played. I just remember none of it being good, and leaving with nothing but a horrible sunburn and a bad attitude.
