Federal Route 52 is an east-west route across northern Illinois. Entering in the west at Savanna, it crosses nearly the entire state before ending up at Joliet. Then it turns more southerly, crossing the Indiana border along with US24 down in Iroquois County. US52 begins in North Dakota and ends in North Carolina; it shows its northwest-southeast tendency as it runs through Illinois as well as across the country.

Information on US52 is broken into 3 parts:

Iowa State line to Lee/LaSalle County line (includes Dixon)

Lee/LaSalle County line to Kendall/Will County line (includes Mendota)

Kendall/Will County line to Indiana State line (includes Joliet and Kankakee)
