  • Hello! Welcome to Drogheda. Drogheda is one of the oldest and richest farms in Australia. We pride ourselves in producing and showing top-quality Saddleseat, Driving, and Western Pleasure show horses that show all over the world.
Drogheda is a gorgeous place, but is very humble. A huge stone mansion, having been passed down through four generations of my family, is surrounded by the barns, pastures, and pens of lovely Drogheda.
When you first come around the corner of one of the great hills guarding our farm, you see Drogheda like a toy in the valley. The gray stone house surrounded by the very old-fashioned looking brown barns and pastures makes the place very picturesque and you can barely tear your eyes off the captivating little place as you continue down the mountain. Driving up the long dirt road, a cloud of Australian dust kicks up from behind, blending and mingling itself with the dried grass. You come through the yard on your way to the house. You notice the pens where the dogs are kept to the left, right across from a pretty, humble little cottage where most of the staff live. A lovely woman stands out on veranda, beating a rug that she knows will never be free of dust out in the country. Your eyes slip past her to a large opening in the closely-packed yard and see the rolling hills of pasture and notice that they must be irrigated to stay so green out here.
Then you see a barn to the left and as you strain to look between the wood slats to get a glimpse of a beautiful Arabian, a Saddlebred maybe, your eyes drift past the stable and up to the great stone mansion. It looms 3 stories above a well-kept lush garden. Fifteen great white pillars hold up a high veranda. Five or six steps lead up to the first platform under the shade of the overhang and the porch swing floats lazily in the breeze. A small, curly haired young woman comes out of the big, oak, old-fashioned, oversized front door and waves. The driver waves back and the girl skipps down the front steps and out of the front gate.
"Hello!" she says with a bright smile and a thick Australian accent. "Welcome to Drogheda! Let me show you around!"
You go with her on the tour and as you arrive back at the front steps, you are amazed and inthralled by the beauty, grace, willpower and overall greatness of the Drogheda specialty they call the Saddle Horse.

Thank you for visiting Drogheda! We would like to invite you to look further into our barn by reviewing the different sections of the barns and even the horses themselves. Below we have frames for our two most important sections of Drogheda, the Training and Showing Programs and the Breeding Programs. Please feel free to browse these at your own will and take as much time as you wish!
