Welcome to my page! I'm a 19-year-old guy from Norway. I am a huge Rage fan, so it was only natural for me to make a Rage site of my own. If you are interested in Rage lyrics/tabs, history, bios and interviews, this is definitely the site to visit. I know there are a lot of Rage sites on the net, but I feel that most of them are incomplete in the way that they only bring up some of the stuff that is of interest when it comes to the group. So, I have put together a list of links that in my opinion will - as a whole - lead you to whatever you want to know about the group.
In August '97, I met Rage's assistant tour manager. As a matter of fact, he was in my house one night with my brother and his friends. See, he was a friend of a friend of my brothers, and he was visiting here in Norway at the time. It turned out that we share almost the same taste in music, and when he saw all of my Rage posters in my room, he didn't doubt that I was a real fan. He invited me to come to LA and hang out with him and his friends and maybe meet all the members of RATM!! Of course, I can't turn that one down!
I have made a song that does contain some of RATM's political opinions, but I have asked them by e-mail if it's cool with them, and they wrote me back, saying it was o.k., so I went ahead and recorded a demo version of it. I don't have the money to publish it yet, but I've uploaded the demo to the web in the mp3 format. I really hope to get it published. Although the lyrics aren't copied, some of the general ideas are (such as the attack of the Oglala Sioux reservation, the killing of Mexicans on the border between Mexico and the U.S., and the massacres in the Middle East committed by the U.S. Army). I think Zack & co. actually appreciates that other people share the same opinions, so I don't think they would mind if I got the song published. However, even though I know I have the law on my side (you can't be refused to steal opinions if you write them in your own words), I won't publish the song if Rage don't agree. Anyway, I think the song came out pretty good, and I'm going to send a copy to Rage and see if they have any objections with it.

About one week ago, I bought the RATM music video, with a running time of more than 70 minutes! It's really cool! The best part of it is the music videos, but the live part also rocks. The best video is undoubtedly Freedom, and not far behind are Bulls on Parade and People of the Sun. The Freedom video is dedicated to Leonard Peltier, the AIM leader who was unjustly arrested and convicted for the murder of two FBI agents. Throughout the whole video, you can read about the incident. The story goes like this:
In the early 70's, residents of the Pine Ridge Reservation lived in poverty, and fear of FBI backed Goon Squads. More than 200 people had been beaten or murdered. Most were supporters of the American Indian Movement.
"The AIM drum had been heard by many Indians around the country who were struggling to find some meaningful existence. Among them was a young Ojibwa-Sioux from Turtle Mountain, North Dakota (...) Leonard Peltier was born on September 12, 1944 (...) The focus of the secret FBI counter-intelligence program (COINTELPRO) was turned from the Black Panthers onto AIM, and an organized 'neutralizing' of AIM leaders was begun." On June 26th 1975, two unmarked cars drove onto Jumping Bull property. A fire fight began. Two FBI agents and one Indian male were killed. One of the largest manhunts in the history of the FBI followed. "In the narrow vision of the F.B.I. there was no place in the American Dream for these ungrateful aborigines who dared to state that all national boundaries in the Western Hemisphere, from Alaska to Argentina, were entirely meaningless, since 'Americans' were really Europeans, and the Americas were Indian country from end to end." Three AIM members were arrested; the first two were acquitted. But after illegal extradition from Canada, Leonard Peltier was found guilty. All key Indian prosecution witnesses claimed they had been coerced by the FBI. "State and government authorities were concerned less with Law and Order than with the obstacle to Black Hills mining leases that AIM insistence on Indian sovereignty might represent." Later, numerous contradictions came to light in FBI evidence. Proof of Peltier's innocence was ignored or withheld from Appeal Courts. 6000 pages of documents about the case remain CLASSIFIED for reasons of NATIONAL SECURITY. "What treaty that the whites have kept has the red man broken? Not one. What treaty that the white man ever made with us have they kept? Not one. When I was a boy, the Sioux owned the world; the sun rose and set on their land; they sent ten thousand men to battle. Where are the warriors today? Who slew them? Where are our lands? Who owns them now?" -Sitting Bull, Lakota. We demand and support the request that Leonard Peltier be granted executive clemency and be released.
