Tair gwyryf rhagorol tair duwiol a da

(Myfyrdod ar nos Nadolig)
Tair gwyryf rhagorol,
    tair duwiol a da,
Fu'n feichiog heb ddychryn
    ar blentyn dibla:
  A'r tair fu'n cyfarfod
      mewn cymmod mwyn cu,
  Tan osgordd i esgor
      'r un tymmor mewn tŷ.

Yr hynaf oedd feichiog
    nod enwog cyn dydd,
A'r ail 'chydig gwedi
    'r haul godi'n ddigudd:
  A'r drydedd oedd ie'ngach
      yn hwyrach brydnawn,
  Un fechan a'i 'n feichiog, -
      Ardderchog y ddawn!

Tair gwyryf diniwed
    tan nodded dinam,
Eu Duw fu'n eu dewis hwy
    megis tair mam,
  I ymddwyn ar Berson
      mor gyson ar goedd,
  Mewn dull cenhedledig
      ei debyg nid oedd.

Ni chafodd angylion,
    enwogion y nef,
Un cymmaint rhyfeddod
    i'w ganfod ag ef;
  Ac iddo dair mammaeth,
      ar unwaith, o rai
  Fu arno'n cyd esgor
      yn drysor di-drai.

Mae Mair gwedi esgor,
    a thymmor ei thŷmp,
Pen dau ddeg a chawneg
    hoff adeg a phump,
  Sef hyny o gis Rhagfur,
      ei gwewyr a gadd,
  Pan aned Enneiniog
      mor enwog ei radd.

Addewid oedd feichiog
    deg enwog ei gair,
Esgorodd hon hefyd
    'r mynyd a Mair;
  Ac a ryr un Person
      yw union ei ran,
  Sef ar yn un mynyd,
      ac yn yr un man.

Esgorodd ar unwaith,
    hen Arfaeth y ne',
Sef yn yr un llannerch,
    ac yn yr un lle;
  Ac ar yr un Person
      mwyn tirion y tair,
  Sef Arfaeth, Addewid,
      'r un mynyd a Mair.

Wel dyna beth newydd,
    o herwydd pa ham,
'Run plentyn tan wregys
    tyn megys tair mam!
  Angylion y nefoedd,
      ddai'n lluoedd i'r llawr,
  I glywed a chanfod
      rhyfeddod mor fawr.

[Mesur: 11.11.11.11]

(Meditation on Christmas Night)
Three excellent virgins,
    three godly and good,
Were pregnant without terror
    with an plague-free child:
  And the three met
      in a gentle, dear agreement,
  Under escort to give birth
at the same season in a house.

The oldest was pregnant
of a famous note before day,
And the second a little after
    the sun rose uncovered:
And the third who was younger
      in the later afternoon,
A little one went pregnant, -
      Excellent the gift!

Three innocent virgins
    under harmless protection,
Their God had chosen them
    as three mothers,
  To behave towards a Person
      so constant publicly,
  In a means of generation
the like of which was not.

The famous angels,
    of heaven did not find,
Any so wonderful
    to find as he;
  And for him three maternals,
      at once, of those
Who were with him pregnant together
      as an unebbing treasure.

Mary had given birth,
and the season of her mound,
After twenty and an additional
    lovely time and five,
That is of the month of Decemeber,
      her labour she had,
  When the Anointed was born
      so famous his degree.

A promise was pregnant
    fair, famous his word
This gave birth also
    in the same manner as Mary;
  And to the same Person
       exactly her part,
That is in the same minute
       and in the same place.

Give birth at once,
did the old Purpose of heaven,
That is in the same spot,
    and in the same place;
  And to the same gentle,
      tender Person of the three,
  That is Purpose, Promise,
      the same minute as Mary.

Well, that is a new thing,
    because of how
The same child under a girdle
    just like three mothers!
  The angels of heaven,
would come as a host down to earth,
  To hear and discover
      a wonder so great.
