Gweddi

Gwir wylaf ddagrau heli - o lwyr och

Gweddi
Gwir wylaf ddagrau heli - o lwyr och,
    I lawr af dan weiddi,
  At ei orsedd mewn gweddi,
  A gwaed y Mab gyda mi.

. . . Dy hedd na omedd imi, -
      Duw lywydd,
    Dilea fy mryntni;
  Claf yw 'ngwaedd, glwy fy ngweddi,
  O ran dy Fab gwrando fi . . .

Drwy'r hoelion a'r coroni -
      draw, a'i gur,
    Drwy y gwawd a'r poeri,
  Drwy y gwinegr, dir gyni,
  Drwy ei boen fawr, derbyn fi.

Robert Williams (Robert ap Gwilym Ddu) 1766-1850

Prayer
Truly I weep salt tears - of complete woe,
    Down I shall go while shouting,
  To his throne in praying,
  With the blood of the Son with me.

. . . Thy peace do not deny me, -
      God governor,
    Remove my filthiness;
  Sick is my shout, hear my prayer,
  For the sake of thy Son listen to me . . .

Through the nails and the crown -
      yonder, and his beating,
    Through the mocking and the spitting,
  Through the vinegar, certain adversity,
  Through his great pain, receive me.
