Gwir ac Anwir

Tynnu mae'r byd at anwir

(Gwir ac Anwir)
Tynnu mae'r byd at anwir,
Enllibio a gwawdio Gwir;
Troi wyneb at yr anwir,
Bradychu a gwerthu Gwir.

Enynnu mae gwên anwir,
Ond prudd dan gystudd yw Gwir.

(Yr enaid ni choronir,
Er mor wael, heb gael y Gwir).

Anwiredd aeth yn eirwir,
Traws a gau y troes y Gwir.

Mawr enw y mae yr anwir
Yn ei gael, yn lle enw Gwir.

Er enwog fawrhau anwir,
Cryfach, rhagorach y Gwir.

'R ennyd bo cwymp yr anwir,
Dyna bryd gwynfyd y Gwir ...
Y Duw uniawn di-anwir,
Rhoed i'm bron galon y Gwir;
Ac yna bid gwae anwir
A gwarth am gyfarth y Gwir.

Robert Williams (Robert ap Gwilym Ddu) 1766-1850

(Truth and Untruth)
Drawing is the world to untruth,
Slandering and mocking Truth;
Turning a face to untruth,
Betraying and selling Truth.

Kindling is a smile of untruth,
But sad under affliction is Truth.

(The soul is not to be crowned,
Although so poor, without getting the Truth).

Untruth became truthful,
Oppressive and false turned the Truth.

A great name the untruth is
Getting, instead of the name of Truth.

Despite the famous magnifying of untruth,
Stonger, more excellent the Truth.

The moment the untruth falls,
Then is the blessedness of the Truth ...
The upright, un-false God,
Gave to my breast the heart of the Truth;
And there let there be the woe of untruth
And disgrace for the resistance of the truth.
