Torri Calon

Dod dy law on'd wyt yn coelio

Torri Calon
Dod dy law, on'd wyt yn coelio,
Dan fy mron, a gwylia 'mrifo;
  Ti gei glywed, os gwrandewi,
  Sŵn y galon fach yn torri.

O f'awylyd, cyfod frwynen,
Ac ymafael yn ei deupen,
  Yn ei hanner tor hi'n union
  Fel y torraist ti fy nghalon.

Breaking a Heart
Put thy hand, dost thou not believe,
Under my breast, a watch me hurting;
  Thou mayst hear, if thou wilt listen,
  The sound of my little heart breaking.

O my beloved, pick up a reed,
And hold it by its two ends,
  In half break it directly
  Like thou didst break my heart.
