JANUARY 2001The Freezin' Fingers Meet-Up DATE: Sunday 21st January 2001 DETAILS: It's gonna be cold, wet, and probably icy. The roads are filthy and laden with corrosion inducing salts and your tyres haven't got a cat in hells chance of warming... Perfect conditions for a couple of hours out on your prized Hornet! No, but seriously, if you fancy meeting up and having a little pootle on Sunday 21st January, come along. The weather will mean it's more of an excuse to keep stopping for hot coffee - so the emphasis is on Meet-Up rather than Ride-Out! We'll meet at 11.30am at the little chef on the southbound stretch of the A3 just after the M25 junction. (Those who came on the Tippetts ride out will remember it - same place). We'll get nicely warmed up before heading off for a ride to Newlands Corner (for Hot drinks) and then onto Box Hill (also for Hot drinks!) and then onto the last leg back to the Little Chef. Not a massive rideout by any means, but a chance to get together and talk Hornets in the dead of winter! If you're hard and from the North like me, then I'll see you there! If you're from the South and would rather stay in to keep your Shandy warm then I'll see you in June! DATE: February 25th 2001 LOCATION: ExCel Exhibition Centre, Canary Wharf, London MARCH 2001No events - too wet and cold! APRIL 2001Maddie and Dave's April Meet-up 22nd April - A hornet meet-up amd chinwag. Meet at Medway services M2 (Just after the Gillingham turn off coast bound) at 11.00am. Then leave services at 11.30 and head for Kent Motorcycles down the M2 onto the A2 at Faversham (Canterbury/Dover). Aim to be at Kent Motorcycles for about 12.00 for coffee and grub. Anyone worried about other riders going off too fast, don't, they will lead you gently to Kent Motorcycles. So new riders are all welcome. Beaulieu Motorcycleworld Show Weekend Date: Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 2001 Excellent weekend at the show - complete with our very own Honda Hornet Owners Club stand! Last years Beaulieu weekend was an absolute stonker! This years is to be held on 23rd and 24th June at the Beaulieu Motor Museum, Brockenhurst, Hampshire. Once again the Honda Hornet Owners Club will be having a stand at the show and Club Member Rose Clarke and myself will be hosting the stand. So if you're interested in taking part and showing off your beast for free - get in touch with Rose right away! The show is over a weekend - and there are camping facilities. Basically, Motorcycle World covers every aspect of the world of motorcycling providing a medley of attractions designed to appeal to everyone, from the novice rider through to the most dedicated biker. There is something for everyone with hundreds of stands displaying the latest bikes from all the major manufactures, leathers and motorcycling bits and pieces to some great arena events plus a host of star names. Sunday 28th October Agenda... The boss of Infinity has offered us 10% discount on anything in the shop on that day - unless it's already in the sale. That includes helmets, new winter clothing stock, gloves, boots and other stuff! So here's the plan... We all meet at 10 am at Box Hill - in the rear car park - for coffee and chat. Set off for a ride to Infinity Motorcycles in Twickenham at approx 10.45. Arrive Infinity approx 11.30/11.45 - refreshments and ogle bike gear. (purchase new winter gloves in my case!) Then leave for Box Hill again at 12.45 (scenic route back) and arrive at 1.30 in time for lunch! After some lunch everyone can go their own ways. Pray for dry roads! NOVEMBER 2001No events yet.
