About Ourselves
We are two teenagers, 1998 graduates of PMHS. We (being Brooke
and Laura) thought it would be fun to put our IDEA class on the web. IDEA
is a gifted and talented class at our high school. Most of us have been in it
since elementary school, though we do have some newcomers. Since we are
theoretically 'gifted and talented,' we thought we would use our creativity
in a productive outlet: the web. We are hoping to get everyone in our IDEA
class on the web soon, so if you are an IDEA student, email
Laura or
Brooke. Email us if you are not
an IDEA student. We love getting emails.
IDEAt? What is this IDEAt of which you speak?
Well, Brooke and I were trying to come up with a cool name for our page,
and our URL. Idea, of course, was taken. So Brooke has a thought: Let's
name it IDEAt. I said Sure! But, though we agree on the name, we do not
quite agree on its meaning. Brooke says: It is pronounced eye-dee-at,
Like "idea with a 't'." Like an ethnic group. If we were from Uganda,
we would be called Ugandans. (ed. note: we do not have anything against
Uganda. Please do not email us about this.) Since we are from IDEA, we
are IDEAt's. Laura says: Pronounce it how it looks. Id-e-at. Idiot.
Very appropriate for us. See, IDEA is supposed to stand for "Increasing
Depths in Educational Ability." And it has done that. But along the way,
we have taken it to mean "Idiots Doing Extra Assignments." So, IDEAt.
Tell Me More!
Check this out! The new purpose of this webpage is a compendium
of the IDEA kids from our graduating class. H-M and I thought we should gather every IDEA kid we know and put their college
email address on here. Granted, we aren't in college yet, but we can get started.
If you are an IDEA student w/ email,
email
Laura or email Brooke.
