Joey sez goodbye...for now
Before I get to my rambling let me first say DON'T LISTEN TO THESE GUYS AND BUY THE SOUNDTRACK RIGHT AWAY CUZ THE TITLES OF SOME OF THE MUSIC REVEALS THE PLOT INCLUDING THE ENDING!!! My brother had episode 1 ruined for him this way. Also I wanted to say that I'll be going over to another IGN affiliated website. Dreamcast HQ (www.dreamcast-hq.net/main.shtml) has hired me on as thier new letters editor. Unfortuneatly this means my time here will soon be over. (Or shortened drastically). Yeah, like I was contributing much with that "Once a week') stuff and all. It's been a great two months working on this site, and I'll try to bring in a top ten and J-File every once in a while. Anyways, here's my final rant.
BELIEVE THE HYPE
Even with E3 coming in two weeks and me with tickets, only one thing has been on my mind for the last 24 hours.
Star Wars.
Yes folks, with the merchandise being put out for sale today, I was hooked. It started when me and my brother managed to get out early from work last night. The Toy's R' Us next door had a line of about 150 people waiting outside. (The line started even before I went to work at 4 P.M.) So, we headed over to a 24 hour Wal-Mart before midnight. (By the way. Wal-Mart employees can't buy Star Wars merchandise from thier own store.) The line inside was about 40 people long. But that was no problem, as when it was my turn to go, there was about a billion figs on the shelf!! I was amazed at how much supply Kenner put out!! I had just enough money to get the main characters and some vehicles. The only problem with Wal-Mart is that they place super-adhesive security tags on all the Star Wars merchandise. But, with the help of a hair dryer I was able to take off the stickers with no adhesive left over. The hype was actually groing in me days before when I picked up a 12 inch Jedi Luke for 8 bucks at Target, and a talking 12 inch Darth with removeable helmet for 30. Also I picked the windows version of Tie Fighter and some SW legos. For me, Episode 1: The Phantom Menace isn't just the biggest movie event ever, it's a big event in my life. And I'm sure that there are some out there that would agree with me on that. I'm the only one here who saw the orignal Star Wars out at the theaters back when I was six. I collected all of the figures and vehicles, and years later sold them for about .25cents each. (I still give myself a kick in the ass everyday for that one.)
My biggest SW memory is when I was 7 the Star Wars Holiday Special was about to come on. My mother wanted me to go with her to the market. Since I was just 7 and still attached to mommy, I decided to go. "For gods sake, hurry your fat, skany ass back!!" I said as we left out the door. (Well, actually it was alot cleaner than that.) 2 hours later we come back, and I had missed the whole thing. "Don't worry sweety, they always repeat these kind of specials alot." (I give my mom a kick in the ass everyday for that one.)
I saw the Holiday special just two years ago when I picked it up on bootleg from the San Diego Comic Con. I sure didn't miss much. Except for the Boba Fett cartoon, the whole thing was soooo bad it was laughable!! Art Carney as a rebel? Bea Aurther as the singing Cantina Owner? Ewwwww...(Half the kids reading this probaly don't know who the hell those actors are anyway.) Now this month, I'll have four SW memoies this month alone; last nights action figure hunt, the fight for tickets on May 12th, Playing Pod Racer and Phantom Menace on May 13th at E3, and the movie itself around 1:30 vto 2:00 a.m. on May 19th. Oh no!! The hype is too much!! RRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Hello!! Meesa JoJo Binks! Mesa surf neta now. Checka out yoda porno.
Byesa bye!! Maysa da force be witha you!!
