The bands first gig was at the Norbreck Castle Hotel, in Blackpool, in February 1998, where the band performed to about 250 people. This led to other bookings around the country, in Cheshire, Aberdeen and London. They have performed in their local area, also, beginning to gather some faithful supporters. The initial line up of Nick, Si, Jan, Kev, Sam, Ben, Paul and Phil, changed recently when the bassist, Paul decided to leave for pastures old, and BB joined up as the latest SAS member. The recruitment of a new trumpet and Saxophone player recently, boosted the brass section to 4, and the band total to 10.

Simon, the lead guitarist, has been around the music scene for years, playing with several other bands before SAS. He also plays with friends in "The Ash Trays", occasionally. His partner, Jan, is a vocalist with the band, and she also has been on the music scene for many years. She has recently recorded vocals on a series of dance music tracks that could be destined to be big club hits. Phil the fingers is the keyboards and trombone player……no, not at the same time. Musically gifted Phil has recently left another band called "Spirit" and is due to start at university soon. Kev, the drummer and his wife Sam, one of the vocalists, have recently adopted a daughter, Emma, but are still staying with SAS. Nick, is also one of the vocalists and this is his first experience of a ban. Although he has spent many years "entertaining, he has only recently decided that the band is the way to go. BB, the new bassist, has been around the music scene for years, playing drums and various other instruments for many bands. SAS were so lucky that he decided to hang his hat with them recently, when Paul rejoined his old band, "Texas Flood". The final current member of SAS, is Ben. The sax player is also a vocalist with the band "Spirit" when he is not with SAS.
