Chapters 21-25

**Chapter 21**

An hour later, we were back at the hotel. Brian invited Kevin up to his suite for awhile, so the three of us made our way up to the suites. I used my key card and entered my suite just as Brian and Kevin went into the Littrell’s suite. I picked up the phone in my room and dialed in the calling card stuff to call my best friend Nadine from back home. It rang twice before someone picked up. “Hello,” the person on the other end said. “Hey is Nadine there?” I asked. “Yeah, just a second.” The person said before the phone was set down. About a minute later, Nadine picked up the phone, “Hello.” “Hey Nadine,” I said. “Hey Licia,” she replied, “how is New York?” “Fine. I have some double bad news to tell you though.” I said. “What’s the bad news?” she asked. “Well, first of all Justin and the guys were involved in an accident this morning and I have no clue how any of them are. Second, I won’t be returning to school, well at least not any school in Indiana.” I said. “OMG, I can’t believe that. I am so sorry to hear that Licia. Why aren’t you coming back to school here?” she questioned. “Well Nadine, it turns out that I am adopted and my real family wants me back, so I am going to be moving to Lexington, KY and going to school there during some of the year. Hopefully I can go to a regular high school for my senior year, like my mom wants. The thing is, my name isn’t really Alicia, it is Brianna.” I replied. “What is your full name then?” She asked curiously. “It is Brianna Marie Littrell.” I answered. “Did you just say Littrell?” She questioned. “Yes, I did,” I replied. “That means…..” she trailed off. “That I am related to Brian and Kevin.” I replied quickly. I held the phone away from my ear as Nadine screamed. “I can’t believe.” “I couldn’t either,” I replied. “I may end up going to Tates Creek High School for my senior year, the same high school Brian went to.” Just then, my pager went off. “Hold on a second Nadine, my pager just went off.” I said as I looked at my pager to see who had paged me. I saw the familiar digits of Justin’s cell phone number. “Nadine, I have to go. That was Justin, I had better call him.” I said. “Ok, bye chica.” She said before we hung up. I left the phone down for a few seconds and then went through the procedure again to call Justin. It rang once before someone picked up. “Hello,” the person said in a hesitant voice. “Hey J, its me.” I said. “Hey Sweetheart,” he said, instantly perking up. “I heard about the accident this morning. How are you and the guys?” I questioned. “We are all alive, but Chris and JC are both hurt pretty badly.” He said. “Oh man, that isn’t good. How badly are you hurt sweetheart?” I asked. “Broken wrist, thumb, and elbow.” He said. “Oh poor baby, that has got to hurt.” I said. “No, doesn’t hurt too badly at the moment, but then again I took some pain medication that they gave me not too long ago.” He responded. “I am actually the only guy that they didn’t keep at least overnight.” “How bad are Lance and Joey?” I asked out of curiosity. “Lance screwed up his right shoulder some how, but no one, not even the doctors are sure of how he did it. He also bruised numerous ribs. Joey got a badly broken and fractured ankle from the impact. The doctors want Joey to be kept in traction for at least 2 weeks to give his ankle a chance to heal.” He answered. “Chris and JC are both in comas, due to head injuries. They both fell out of their bunks.” “Oh J, I wish I could be there for you right now. I know that you could use someone right now.” I said. “Yes, I could use a friend right now,” he said with a quivering voice, trying his best not to cry. “Oh babe, please don’t cry, it wont help anything. All that it will succeed in doing is making your eyes all red and puffy. ” I stated. “I wish that I could be there to give you a hug right now.” “Please come,” he said. “I can try and see, I mean considering that the accident happened near where I am going to be living soon.” I said. “What do you mean?” he asked. “Well it turns out that I was adopted when I was little and now my real family wants me back.” I answered. “What?” he asked. “My name is really Brianna Marie Littrell and my family lives in Lexington, KY. Well, except my brother and my cousin, who both live in Florida with three of their friends.” I said. “I love you no matter what sweetheart and I still want to date you and you to be my girlfriend. Your brother and your cousin and their friends, sound like a group. Wait a second, Littrell? That means your brother is Brian and your cousin is Kevin, both from the Backstreet Boys.” Justin said. “Yes, that is right. They are my family. Does that matter to you sweetheart?” I answered. “It doesn’t matter to me, I was just making sure I understood what you had said.” Justin replied. We talked for a bit longer, until he started getting tired. We said our good-byes and hung up. I laid on my bed, facing the TV, so that I could watch something for a bit and I turned on the TV to MTV. John Norris was on again. “Hi, I am John Norris with a special report. As we reported earlier, the tour buses for ‘N Sync and Limp Bizkit collided. We have gotten word from spokespeople for each group that there were some fatalities and no one escaped injury. 3 members of Limp Bizkit were killed and the other remaining members are seriously hurt. None of the members of ‘N Sync were killed, but 2 were seriously injured. The names of the dead and the seriously injuried have not been released yet. We will keep you up to date as more news on the accident becomes available.” “Man, what pain their families have to endure,” I thought to myself as I watched the tv. The video for “(You Drive Me) Crazy” by Britney Spears came on. I fell asleep while watching it.

**Chapter 22**

“Wake up Brianna. We are going to go out to eat in half-an hour, so that should give you time to change.” My adoptive mother said. “Ok,” I said, “what time is it right now?” “It is about 5:30 right now. Jackie called a half an hour to go and invited us out to eat again. We accepted their offer.” My adoptive mother said. “Ok,” I said as I got up. “By the way, Justin and the guys were involved in an accident early this morning.” “OMG, are they all right?” she asked. “Not all of them, unfortunately. Justin lucked out with just a broken thumb, wrist, and elbow. Lance messed up his right shoulder pretty badly and he also bruised some ribs. Joey has a badly broken and fractured ankle and has to be kept in traction for at least 2 weeks. I don’t know the full extent on Chris and JC, but that is only because Justin didn’t know, but what I do know is that they are both in comas.” I said as I felt tears start to brim and fall from my eyes. My adoptive mother walked over and gave me a big hug. After the hug, I got up and changed into something to go different to go out to eat in. I finished getting ready just as there was a knock on the door to our hotel room suite. I walked to the door and answered it. “Hey bro,” I said as I saw that it was my brother Brian. “Are you guys ready to go?” he asked. “I am, but I am not sure about my adoptive parents. Why don’t you come in for a minute while I go see if they are ready to go,” I suggested. “Ok,” he said as he entered our room. I walked to my adoptive parents’ room and I knocked on the door. “Are you guys ready? Brian is here.” “Yes we are ready,” my mother said as she opened the door and they walked out. “Ok, lets go Brian,” I said as I walked over to him with my adoptive parents following me. He opened the door and held it as we walked out of the door, closing the door behind him after he walked out. We meet Jackie, Harold Jr., and Harold III at the elevator to go down to the lobby together. We got into an elevator and reached the lobby within a matter of minutes. We walked out of the elevator and out to an awaiting limo. We climbed into the limo and within a matter of minutes, we had reached our destination, which was a nice, new Pizza Parlor. We climbed out of the limo one-by-one, noticed Kevin and the Richardsons climbing out of another limo, and we all walked into the restaurant together as a big group. We all knew that tomorrow was our last full day here in New York.

**Chapter 23**

After we ordered our pizzas, we started talking about what we wanted to do on our last full day here in New York. Brian and Kevin decided that they should take me to see the Statue of Liberty, which would take a good part of the day. They said that they wanted to hit F.A.O. Schwartz also, for my sake. I mentioned that I would like to hit a bookstore to get a new magazine or two and possible a book for the plane ride home. Brian liked that idea too because he just realized that he needed some new reading material too. I smiled at Brian. “Kevin remember the charity basketball game that we have been invited to play in by ‘N Sync?” Brian asked. “Yes and I talked to our management about it. They agreed that we should participate in it.” Kevin said. “I was thinking of calling the guys of ‘N Sync and asking if Brianna could play too, because I bet that she would enjoy it, wouldn’t you Brianna?” Brian stated. “Yes, I would definitely love to be able to do that because I love playing basketball.” I answered. “Ok, that is settled. I will call the guys of ‘N Sync after dinner and ask if Brianna can participate also.” Brian said. A few minutes later, our pizzas arrived. Everyone dug in and continued their conversations while they ate pizza.

**Chapter 24**

After dinner, we headed out of the Pizza Parlor and climbed into two separate limos to head our separate ways. The Littrells, my adoptive parents, and I headed back to our hotel. Brian helped me out of the limo like he always did and we headed into the hotel together. We walked into one of the elevator cars and as we were going up to our floor, Brian asked me if I wanted to come and spend some time in their room. I said that I did, so when the elevator reached our floor and we got out, I headed into the Littrells’ room with them. Brian walked into his room and sat down on his bed. He grabbed his organizer that was sitting on the table by the bed and opened it to the phone numbers section. He went straight to the T section, looked up Justin’s number, picked up the phone and dialed the number. It rang a few times and then someone picked up. “Hello,” the person said in a groggy voice. “Hello is Justin there?” Brian asked. “Just a minute,” the person said. A minute later, someone else picked up the phone. “Hello,” a up-beat voice said into the phone. “Hey Justin, its B-Rok,” Brian said. “Hey B-Rok, what’s up?” Justin asked. “Well, you know that charity basketball game you guys are doing.” Brian started. “The one we invited you to?” Justin asked. “Yeah, that one.” Brian replied. “Anyway, we would love to participate in it, so you can count us in.” “Awesome,” Justin said. “I was wondering about one thing though.” Brian continued. “What’s that?” Justin asked. “I was wondering if my sister Brianna could participate in the game as well.” Brian stated. “Sure, I don’t see why she can’t. I mean, the more the merrier.” Justin answered. “That is great. I am glad that it is cool with you for her to play because she loves to play b-ball just like me.” Brian said. “Awesome man, I can’t wait to meet your sister, I bet she is one awesome chick.” Justin replied, not realizing that his girlfriend is the same person that Brian is talking about. “Well she is a lot like me, just younger with longer hair and she is, of course, female, so I am sure that you will really like her.” Brian said. “Awesome man. Well, I will let you go B-rok.” Justin said. “Ok man. Talk to you later. Bye Justin.” Brian said. “Bye B-rok.” Justin said before they hung up. Brian and I hung out for a bit before I decided that I was very tired. So I got up, walked out of the room, walked out of the suite, walked across the hall, opened the door to the suite that I was staying and I walked in. I walked into my room and changed into my p.j.’s, which was a pair of fubu boxer shorts and a tank-top and both were midnight blue in color. I set the alarm, turned off the light, and then climbed into bed and fell fast asleep.

**Chapter 25**

The next morning, the alarm buzzed at 9 a.m. I slapped the snooze button to shut it off for the moment. I got up and actually switched the annoying thing off so that it wouldn’t go off again. I went into the bathroom and got cleaned up. I then went back to my room and proceeded to get dressed for the day. I put the stuff that was in my one-strap backpack into my backpack that I had brought on the plane as a carry-on, so that I could use the bag today, encase I bought anything today. I also proceeded to clean up my room a bit and I locked up my suitcase. With-in a half-an hour, I was ready to go and my room looked very neat and tidy. Brian had said last night that he would knock on the door when he was ready to go down together to have breakfast, so I laid down on my bed and turned on the tv. Mtv News was just starting when I turned it on. “Hi, I am John Norris with Mtv News. I have more news on the crash that happened yesterday. It turns out that the dead are Wes, Sam, and John from Limp Bizkit. Fred Durst was very seriously injured and is in critical condition at the moment. There is no word on how badly injured DJ Lethal is. On the ‘N Sync side, no one has died as of this moment. The word that we have gotten on them is that JC and Chris were both seriously injured with numerous injuries and are both in critical condition. Lance suffered an injured right shoulder and numerous bruised ribs. Joey suffered a badly broken and fractured ankle, which will require him to be in traction for at least two weeks. Justin turned out to be the luckiest of the bunch, which his injury was a broken thumb, wrist, and elbow. All tour plans and so forth for ‘N Sync have been postponed until further notice. When we get more news on the accident, we will pass it along to you as soon as we can. I am John Norris for Mtv News.” The Mtv News anchor said. The ending credits for Mtv News rolled soon after that. Just as the credits ended, there was a knock on the door to the suite. I grabbed my backpack, made sure that I had everything that I needed for the day, and I went to the door. I opened the door and saw my brother standing there. “Hey Brian,” I said. “Hey Brianna, ready to go?” Brian asked. “Yup,” I said. I yelled good-bye to my adoptive parents before stepping out the door and pulling the door shut behind me. Brian and I walked over to the elevator and got in. We rode down to the main floor and walked into the restaurant that they had down there. We walked into the restaurant together and were seated at a table.
