Name:Joseph D'arz (et Kellis) Quite comfortable with his mixed heritage, D'arz considers himself a child of both Human and Andorian Cultures. However, he has chosen the Warrior's Path, and embraces his place in his Clan and his caste. As a result he is quite proficient at several different styles of martial arts, as well as being adept with bladed weapons. He has a strong sense of honor, being a member of the Warrior Caste, and is a great admirer of Klingon Culture. He is quick to embrace a challenge, and can be somewhat overconfident, causing him to sometimes 'bite off more than he can chew'. D'arz does not use contractions, a small quirk of his. My parents met while my mother, Jenna Traynor, was serving in Starfleet at the Europa Research Station. While attending a conference on astrophysics at the ERS, she met my father, Thelin D'arz. Thelin was a proponent of several theories on wormholes that my mother strongly disagreed with, something she wasted no time in telling him. Their discussion led to a spirited debate that became the talk of the conference. It also led to my father being smitten with Jenna, and six months later my parents were married. Jenna soon resigned from Starfleet, and relocated to Andor. My father received permission to forego the traditional group clan marriage from the Clan Elders, and my mother was accepted into Clan Kellis.
My father had a very strong sense of Clan and family tradition, something he passed on to me at a very young age. When I was eight, and ready to embark upon my Trial of Acceptance, he gave me his Grandsire's blade. The k'tann had been given to him at his own coming of age by his sire, Tran. The feeling of family pride as he told me of his own Trial, and that of my Father's father is something that I will hold in my heart forever.
My mother Jenna was every bit my father's equal in intellect, but as opposite from him in every other way as two beings could be. Where my father was bookish, she was athletic. Thelin was quite reserved; Jenna always outgoing. But the two of them always seemed at ease with each other, and it was obvious that my father loved her above everything. When I was eleven, my parents were killed in a terrorist attack on the T'karr Research Outpost. A rogue clan-circle set off a Tridium bomb that devestated the station, in protest of Starfleet involvement there. My Uncle Tannis took me in, and raised me as his own, a life-debt I can never repay. I lived with him until I enlisted in the Public Service. I would be a Warrior.
The next several years were especially hard, constantly being challenged by others in the Warrior caste to prove myself a true Andorian. But I perservered, struggling to succeed where others would have me fail. I served my term, earning my Citizenship, and contemplated re-enlisting. But something inside me was troubled.
Once again my Uncle rescued me, albeit in a different fashion. He urged me to travel, and to seek out and explore my Human heritage. I took his advice, and sought my soul out amongst the stars. Travelling the galaxy for several years, I served on a variety of ships, and visited many worlds, even Q'onos, where I deleloped a fondness and a deep respect for the Klingon Culture. Eventually, I ended up on Terra, spending many months there, exploring the planet and myself.
It was there I was contacted by the Public Service Authority of Devas Province, on Andor. My Uncle Tannis had died under mysterious circumstances, and I was needed back on the Homeworld.
I returned to Andor a changed being. After attending the ritual Clan Passage Rite for Tannis, I knew I could not stay on Andor. After squaring away the family estate, I felt at a loss, truly alone for the first time in years. I thought of my parents and uncle and inspired by their service to duty, decided to join Starfleet and the FDTF to honor their memory.

Appearance
Aside from his blue skin and platinum colored hair, genetically D'arz takes after his mother's human side (hence his lack of antennae). He appears to be in his mid-thirties, which is young by Andorian standards. His icy blue gaze can be particularly intimidating to those who don't know him well.
Attributes
D'arz is rather stoic in nature, sometimes making him seem aloof and distant to others. He is actually quite personable, despite his somewhat intimidating appearance (which he admits is something of an affectation). He possesses a dry sense of humor and a quick wit, although he sometimes makes use of these talents at the most inopportune times.

Personal History
My parents travelled quite a bit while I was young, and often left me in the care of my Father's brother, Tannis. My Uncle Tannis was a bit of a rogue, a merchant in the Tradesman caste. I suspected even then that he had more than a bit of smuggler in him. It was Tannis who helped me prepare for my Trial of Acceptance, and it was he who rushed me to the Healers upon my return (I still bear the scars, and proudly).
