This is an airplane that a friend of mine flew several times and then had a mishap. He crunched it in on one of the wings destroying the wing panel beyond repair. I happened to have a balsa sheet covered foam wing that was originally made for a 72" Diabolo aerobatic plane. When I layed the remaining good wing half down on the Diabolo wing, I was glad to find they were nearly a perfect match. I managed to cut the outer portions of the foam wing down, epoxy them together, rig them with aileron and flap servo bays and wiring and then construct the flaps and ailerons and wing tips. As you can see, it turned out real nice. The hardest part was carving the whole center section out of solid balsa. I'm happy to say that the plane flies extremely well with this new wing. It only weighs a half pound or so more than the original. It is also a whole lot faster with this thinner airfoiled wing.
