Hello INDIANS!
We had a great time at the Ten-year Class Reunion! A big thank you to everyone that helped, served, or gave of their time and money. I am glad that it is over and I now have time to resume my studies at SLCC- at Forest Park. I am majoring in Social Work with minors in Addiction Studies and Corrections. I plan on transferring to UMSL in the fall of 2005 to complete my BSW/MSW and begin my career as a Substance Abuse Rehablitation Counselor. What's up class??
These ten years went buy kinda fast. It seems as if it was just a couple of years ago since i walked across that stage on the football field. After graduating from the "U", I attended Tenn State Univ. for a couple of years, then transfered to the Univ. of Mo. Rolla. There, I played football and was majoring in electrical engineering. Playing ball and trying to study took to much from me, so I ended up in the navy. I am an electrician in the navy and I've been in the service since 96' and will be in til 2004. I played simi-pro football here for a couple of years and play for a flag football league during the fall(i can't get football out of my blood). Right now I am trying to finish up on my E.E. so when i do get out of the navy, I would have accomplished one of my goals I've set for myself after graduating high school. Life sure has changed for me in the years since I embraced adulthood and set off on my own. I chose the ARMY as my way of paying my way through life, and I've done away with the funny haircuts. Along the way I've managed to get promoted a few times and even produce little versions of myself with the help of a very beautiful and spirited woman that I met here in the aloha state. I got married in late December of 2001 at a Buddhist Temple in Augusta, Missouri to Bernadette Hanks, and I have a 3 year old daughter named Chrystlyn. My wife and I are moving to her family's land in southern Missouri (166 acres) where we are going to raise hawks, owls, and watch the resident mountain lions and bobcats. We are working on starting a buisness in Springfield, and already tour the country each summer vending, perfoming, and giving massage at Pagan festivals. How is everyone? I went to the Reunion fund-raiser in March and saw a few of you. But by and large, I haven't seen everyone since graduation. I had intended to attend the reunion this summer, but unfortunately it has been scheduled for the same month as my study abroad program in Vienna. As I mentioned on Classmates.com I was in the Marines for a while and have since begun my education at UMSL. It looks like I have my work cut out for me, considering the success that many of you have found since our last meeting, but I intend to catch up. I have travled very little but I am coming up on a sabaticle from work (4 weeks of paid leave as a gift for my ten years of service) so I will be traveling during that time hopefully.
