Amado(Madzhie)Sangalang
(1948– 2008)
Born May 27, 1948 in the Provinces of San Miguel Bulacan, Philippines. He was raised in 8th Avenue Grace Park Caloocan City. In his teen-age years, writing poems and drawing projects for Grade School students were one of his source of earning money. When he graduated in High School he worked as an apprentice artist in movie ads. In 1970 Amado worked as a letterer for comicbooks in Miranda Book Store with a rate of one peso per page. He was then given a break a year after to draw a comic book and later was hired as an illustrator and writer to other publishing companies such as PSG, Roces, GASI, Atlas, and Rex Publication. He also work as an assistant artist to his master and tutor Nestor Redondo and Alex Nino .
He work as an illustrator for D.C. comics like: House of Mystery (1951) - #312 and G.I. Combat (1957) - #229.

In 1991 he worked with Neal Adams and Alfredo Alcala as an inker on Conan. He also worked with Tony Zuniga, Nestor Redondo, and Dell Barras. He also did a few inked pages of Joe Kubert's pencil of Tarzan through Nestor Redondo. Amado was also a character designer in the animation industry from 1989-1990. He worked for DIC animation on such titles as Super Mario, Captain Planet, Where's Waldo, and G.I. Joe. As of 2002 he is a background designer, lay-out artist and a storyboard revision artist for Paramount Pictures. He has worked on the Rugrats Movie, Rugrats in Paris, and The Wild Thornberrys. In addition he has also worked as a freelance artist for Warner Brothers, Fox Animation, and Saban. His last best comic book work was The Sword, the Arrow and the Beast.

On 1987 he found the truth and studied the bible on the Island of Saipan. He went back to the Philippines and got baptist as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses together with his wife Amelina on February 14, 1988 in a Circuit Assembly at Pandi, Bulacan.

He went to Los Angeles on year 1990, to Canada on 1994, and came back to U.S. on 1998 with his wife and four children.

Amado also painted scenic landscape and portraits, did charcoal drawings and caricatures in Santa Monica Pier and has done lots of exhibits in Los Angeles, CA.

On year 2004 he entered the full time ministry service of Jehovah’s Witnesses as a regular pioneer. Amado B. Sangalang faithfully and whole heartedly served Almighty God Jehovah up until the 3rd of April, 2008.
