Cocktaillica started several years ago. We managed to release a 45 with the help of the Grammy nominated producer and all around great guy Joe Ferry. For a while the band hung on with an assortment of drummers too numerous to mention. Our next release was the song No Yawk on the girl band compilation CD She's A Rebel released on Shanachie records. The song and CD met with many favorable reviews. This led to a showcase at the NXNE festival in Toronto where we had a blast and seemed to be a big hit. Click here for a link to a review. After that we got fuckin' fed up cause of the rotating drummer thing and tried another band with various other people (which ran it's course due to the usual garden variety of band bullshit and then some). After what felt like a long year both Laura and I decided to take a break, looking for other projects. Even with all the ups and downs we still managed to remain friends and occasionally played tribute shows put on by our friends Allegra or Laurie Es. That was fun. We got to pretend to be the Clash, the Monkees, Led Zep, the Cramps and still played fun places like Meow Mix and got to jam with some awesomely talented friends like Cid, Mike Linn, and our favorite drummer of all time, Tony.
