NOTES: We have presently decided not to make this one available online or on DVD, sending it to film festivals instead. Gates Of Gore Interview with Mitsu Bitchi MicrocinemaScene.com news item View stills from the movie NOTES: Originally conceived as part of a Christmas anthology by Chris Seaver of Low Budget Pictures. STATUS: Released summer 2004 as part of the underground horror compilation "Around Midnight" by Falcon Video. Gates Of Gore Review JoeBobBriggs.com View stills from the movie NOTES: This film was based on a script sent to us by Falcon Video's Phil Herman and re-tooled for a one-woman performance. We'd never attempted drama before, and usually DO NOT have time for 'outside projects', but decided it'd be a chance to experiment. WAKE UP premiered as part of the 2005 Mental Health Benefit (Athens, GA).
HERO COOKIE (2003) Written and Directed by Andrew Shearer CAST: Monica Puller, Cookie J. Waters, Jacki Spunk, Richard Whiskey, Ellis Dee and Wendy Throbb. SYNOPSIS: A pair of geeky comic book chicks decide to become superheroes when their lives are disrupted by the evil Miss Dick and her flamin' henchman Allen. STATUS: Limited-edition DVD sold out! Download trailer (Windows Media format only) View stills from the movie NOTES: After the 4-minute trailer was posted online in early '04, interest in this flick quickly surpassed that of any of our previous efforts. By the time it was finished (a full year after we'd originally filmed it), it was no wonder that we sold all of our limited edition DVDs when we attended the Twisted Nightmare Con in September. Sadly, HERO COOKIE was the last film that featured our core group of Jacki, Richard, Cookie and Monica, but the writing and performances serve as an example of just how good it can be when everyone gets on the same page.
KILL THE MOVIE (2003) Written and Directed by Andrew Shearer CAST: Monica Puller, Cookie J. Waters, Jacki Spunk, David Meadows, Ellis Dee, Kitty Juggler, Richard Whiskey, Justin Lampin, Alejandro Patino, Kris Spikes and Faith Matthews. SYNOPSIS: A group of asshole teenagers decide to play a mean trick on two naive young girls. Blood, guts, semen and doo-doo follow! STATUS: Limited-edition DVD sold out! Gates Of Gore Review AllHorrorMovies.com Review Download trailer (Windows Media format only) View stills from the movie NOTES: After seeing her idol Debbie Rochon in "American Nightmare", Monica wanted to kill a lot of people in a movie. So the script was cooked up in about 4 hours, we got an assload of our friends together out in the woods, and filmed for 15 hours straight! It was tiresome, wet and cold, but a fun experience overall. This is the kind of DV filmmaking that gives DV filmmaking a bad name (Hacker's Source magazine called it a second rate Troma ripoff). But hey, they asked for it! We think the shit is funny.
BUTTONHEAD (2003) Written and Directed by Andrew Shearer CAST: Monica Puller, Cookie J. Waters, Jacki Spunk, and Richard Whiskey. SYNOPSIS: A redneck girl is beaten to death by her alcoholic boyfriend, and is brought back to life by a lesbian nurse, who re-activates her brain using a car battery and a clitoris. STATUS: Available on DVD from Freak Productions (see below). Gates Of Gore Review Film Threat Review Download trailer (Windows Media format only) View stills from the movie NOTES: This was our first experience shooting on digital video, and we didn't know about the "image stabilizer" button, so some of the scenes in the beginning are shaky as fuck. But by the time the re-animated redneck girl is humping the inflatable alligator, you won't give too much of a crap about "quality". This film is part of the horror anthology FACES OF SCHLOCK, which you can buy on DVD at Freak Productions.
CANNIBAL SISTERS (2002) Written and Directed by Andrew Shearer CAST: Monica Puller, Cookie J. Waters, Jayd Holliday and Richard Whiskey. SYNOPSIS: A criminal looking to rob a helpless nursery school teacher enters the bizarre world of the Cannibal Sisters. STATUS: No longer available. A condensed version can be seen in the special features of our 2006 "Cannibal Sisters" remake DVD. Gates Of Gore Review NOTES: Some say this is our most disturbing movie. It was shot on grainy-looking VHS-C which gives the movie a snuff-like quality. Everyone that sees it comments on how freaky Cookie's performance as "Baby Rose" is, and about the insane amount of times the word "fuck" is uttered by the cast. That's because even though we had a script, the actors were instructed to "just say fuck" if they were forgetting lines. As a result, you will hear "fuck" more times per minute during this film than on 2 Live Crew's legendary album "As Nasty As They Wanna Be" (which was declared obscene by an actual court judge).
POP GOES THE EVIL (2001) Written and Directed by Andrew Shearer CAST: Monica Puller and Cara Lott. SYNOPSIS: Alison's new roommate Casie is obsessed with werewolves, but that's the least of her problems. STATUS: No longer available. A clip from it can be seen in the special features on the "Socks + VIolence" DVD. Gates Of Gore Review NOTES: The first-ever Gonzoriffic film, shot on crummy VHS-C in the summer of 2001. There was no script, just a stack of index cards with scene descriptions written on them. Monica and Cara were great at improv and worked extremely well together, while Andrew tried hard not to laugh during the "handy my boyfriend" scene. He fell out of a broken chair and busted his ass, ruining one take. Along with CANNIBAL SISTERS, this flick can be found as an extra feature on the limited edition DISASTER FOR CHRISTMAS disc. Consider yourself warned! |
