Life's Remote

I wish sometimes I had a remote for my life.
A small VCR remote for the tape which is my life.
Where, just like a VCR and tape, I could alter what happens.
I could fast forward through the tough parts and go straight to the good ones.
I could rewind the tape to certain spots in order to relive them,
either to relive the good times, or to redo an unsatisfactory situation.
I could record during the times that I wanted to remember something forever,
or to record over things that I didn't want to recall again.
I could pause the tape during the times that I require quiet reflection,
or I could use the stop button to escape from it all, if only for a short stint.
I could use the tracking adjustment to clarify the unclear areas,
and the timer to make sure I don't miss anything important.
But I stay clear of the Eject button.
Although there might be times when the fast forwarding,
and recording over doesn't always purge the problem. Or the stop doesn't help to escape,
or the tracking doesn't make it any clearer.
I would never eject my tape out, because as bad as it gets, I love my tape.
