About the author
I am a chest physician. I have about thirty years experience in dealing with chest diseases especially TB.I was medical superintendent of a 128 bedded TB sanatorium in Pondicherry.(Now the bed strength is 138)I was the State TB officer in Pondicherry.My research papers have been published in Indian Journal of Tuberculosis,Lung India and NTI newsletter.I have also presented papers in national conferences
The Union territory of Pondicherry is in South India and consists of 4 geographically scattered regions.There is one district TB centre,1 sanatorium,2 chest clinics and 58 peripheral health centres which treat TB patients.
