Barnyard Sounds believes that the internet should be free (like TV) and tangible recordings (like DVDs) should be reasonably priced. The video files that are posted on this website are encoded as WMV (Windows Media Video) files. The quality is comparable to the "over-the-airwaves" TV.

Video is a space hog when it comes to the internet. Even with the best of modern compression technologies the size of video files are prohibitive. DSL and cable modems have made it possible to view these files in real time but finding hosts that do not charge for the extra bandwith required is still a challenge. As a result there is not as much video posted on this web site as we would like there to be. Only a fraction of the available footage has been posted on this web site. We will continue to post as much video as is possible given the current constraints.
